My job is so stupid.

I have a load that delivers to Gulfport, MS an hour away. I happened to be really early so I stopped at home on the way near Mobile, AL.

I park my semitruck on a lot that my company doesn't own. They rent a space in a local private tow yard. The tow yard redneck decided there is a payment dispute, so after i parked there he changed the padlock and blocked the gate with his tow rig so now I can't access my truck and all my dispatches are temporarily canceled.

I'm now over 2 days late to deliver. They need to wait for a wire transfer payment to confirm before they'll release my truck.

I don't really even like truck driving, but it does pay a middle class income and I feel like I'm stuck with it. Actually, I should say driving a big truck itself isn't that bad, it's the long hours I'm sick of. I keep hoping I can find something more local and get out of this longhaul crap.FB_IMG_1567621299491.jpg

So is it a lot you are allowed to park on?

lol it's supposed to be. I've been parking there since December.

I started this job with the idea that I had a place to park a big semitruck because I have no room at home. I picked up a company truck that was left on this same lot by an ex-employee. I don't know if they were fired or quit. So, I'd take my car here every time to get to this semi and leave it behind.

My company did not own this space, but they were supposed to be leasing it from this tow yard guy. I don't know if they've just burned the guy on payments or if he's trying to raise rates and they didn't pay it. It's all so insane.

I was supposed to have delivered my load to Sam's Club on Tuesday morning in Gulfport, MS and now it's going on 3 days unresolved with this guy. I have the feeling this will drag on through Friday into the weekend at this rate.

I learned my company failed to pay this guy for this parked space for 5 months. Oops.

I should be getting almost a week of 'breakdown' pay so I'm not totally screwed. Just a strange situation and I'll be hunting for another parking space.

It's awkward sometimes have a vehicle that is so massive.

Yeah I'd be pissed too. Hopefully your "breakdown" pay is at the right percentage and you're not getting screwed for something that's not your fault.

Bought a new coffee recently. Super dark roast called Supernova. Only coffee I've been making lately is in my Keurig using reusable pods so I can use my own stuff, but I rarely ended up even using it so decided to go back to my French press. Anyways, turned out really well. I had an auto grinder a while back but it's just been sitting in the cupboard for who knows how long so probably stale ass rancid coffee in it. Probably just toss it out. I picked up a cheap manual burr grinder and it didn't really take long to grind. No more than what it took waiting for the water to boil, so might just stick with that instead of buying a new auto one.

I heard high speed electrics can kind of friction burn the beans. Might be better off.

I'm using a Hamilton that takes Keurigs to make coffee in the semi Truck for the convenience.

I've only ever used the conical burr type made of ceramic so I don't think it gets too hot. I've thought about getting something that is a two in one maker that is a drip with a side pod for Keurig type for quick use. May do that eventually if I get tired of making French press in the morning before work.
