Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone - shutting down September

Just a total camp fest in objective modes. Everyone just camps for kills and ignores objectives. Every time I died it was to someone prone in a dark corner two buildings away who's aim never moved. Snipers are super noob friendly. Bullet drop doesn't matter because the maps aren't big enough to matter.

The idea of no enemies on the mini map seemed like a more hardcore idea, but all it does is promote camping. Flank around to the back of the enemy spawn and set up a tent. Get a couple of kills, move and repeat.

Definite no-buy for me. I liked the idea of COD growing up and getting a little more tactical, but they've failed horribly at it.

So you're telling me that sitting in a corner waiting for morons to run by isn't tactical?

I played team death match and been camping. Love it.

AK silenced my favorite weapon so far. If you’re not playing with a group and going solo you will definitely be frustrated with the game.

Saw a story that maybe Battle Royal mode is coming.

I played a little more and basically just joined the campers. I unlocked level 4 and can make custom classes which helps too. The game just feels like it tries to do multiple things and doesn't succeed. It isn't a run and gun game like the past, but it isn't really tactical either. You either spawn in someone's gunsights or you spawn in the middle of nothing.

It worries me to see people crouching in a corner nowhere near an objective farming kills in a beta where the stats don't even count. Imagine how bad people will be camping in the full game? I don't mind people sitting in an objective room, that's the point, but people just find a dark corner with no strategic value and just farm kills. With no radar they can stay in a spot for longer, because even with the kill cam you may spawn far away and not get back there.

I think you'll see solo campers and fireteams coordinating. The only way I had fun and was effective was to rush the campers. Unless I didn't do it right there's not even a one hit melee kill from behind, so you don't even get that satisfaction of sneaking up on a sniper.

I think this game has a visibility problem like BF V did too. Not sure if it is the HDR or what but you can sit back inside a room and nobody can see from the outside. There's so many spots where you have long sniper lanes where you simply can't see them.

I don’t like run and gunners and you don’t like campers :( We should get married!!

I started doing better when I stuck to "sneak and peek". Take a quick peek, then make a quick dash between cover and repeat. The big problem is you never know where someone could be, so you end up cautiously peeking around in rooms and finding nothing. You kind of have to do it though and you never know when the spawns will go crazy.

One thing I hadn't done yet is build a shotgon or smg rush class and just go nuts. I had a similar class back in MW2 which was so much fun.

I'll complain but probably end up getting it. Maybe wait for a Black Friday sale or something. There's basically nothing much coming out this fall I'm interested in.

I haven’t seen any more camping that wasn’t in every other COD. That’s why I like that they brought back the Headquarters mode. If you’re not trying for the objective you’ll lose. Been doing fine in this mode. Had a couple 30 kill matches. Only time I get frustrated is when the spawns screw you on trying to take the objective.

If you play TDM yes it’s a camp fest like most COD’s. That is why I hate TDM and only like playing objective modes.

Got the old gang back together late last night (from the MW and MW2 days). We never lost a match last night in HQ. started to feel like old times. We ready for full release!

Fell in love with the M4 with full attachments. It’s good up close and at range. Cracked a 40 kill match.

Had no problems connecting. Everyone I played with had no problems either. Only problem we had was after each match you had to switch party leader to search for a new match.

Got some solid play time in this weekend. Graphics look great for COD, at least on my X1X. Fast in and out of games for TDM. Some spawn issues but I have seen that with every COD sadly.

I thought the graphics were a plus for sure. The problem is visibility. BFV went through the same problem - they made the graphics realistic and players blended right in to the environment too easily.

Decent beta, look forward to the final game. It's quite ugly though.
This is what I've heard. I didn't get a chance to play over the weekend, but my buddies who did said it looked really bad on OG Xbox 1, but on the One X it looked much better

I only read this on a forum...so I don't know if it is true....but I am hearing that TDM (which I play) looks great, but Ground War has dumbed down graphics for the larger number of players in matchmaking.

I played it on an OG Xbox 1 and yes it looked terrible. Just a muddy brown/gray blob to everything and aliasing up the ass. Couldn't really tell what anything was beyond a certain point. Also doubting it's running at 1080p on regular Xbox.

Visibility was pretty butt.

Friends lasso'd me into playing. It wasn't an awful time, but it definitely confirms I dropped this series for a reason. Ground war was an interesting experience, but I couldn't help but think I'd rather be playing a new modern battlefield instead. (Get out of ww2 already)

Even so, it nails a ton of superficial aspects. The sound, animation, and kick to shooting feels great. On the other hand, actual movement didn't feel all too improved and I've got a bone to pick with those spawns.

In any case, I don't plan on buying, but I wasn't in the market anyway.

I was having a good time untiI I unlocked the M14 then it was a disaster, literally no point in using a Marksman Rifle with the horrendous flinch.

From what I understand, the M4 was way better than any other gun in the game. The weapons weren't balanced at all.

Unless they change things for release, the meta will be M4 + Ghost + the perk that gives you 2 claymores (which are overpowered too).

I hate to keep dumping on the game but I really wonder if it is going to be much more than the flavor of the month. I'm sure it will sell as there's little going on this fall (last one before next gen). I wonder too if people are just going to fall back to the smaller game modes, as that seemed to be where it was the most fun. On larger maps it was trying to be Battlefield while missing most of what makes that good. They are even paying people like Jackfrags to promote the game, but anyone not paid by Activision is ripping it apart.

Of course they could tweak a lot of things from the beta and add a lot more balance.

I guess the beta is over? I tried to get in last night and could not connect. So I played the COD4 MW remastered last night. God I love those maps.
