I thought it was a good game, but they did need more variety in terms of combat. Even the ability to stealth instakill, plant landmines or throw grenades would have been a welcome addition.
Sounds like my weekend. Started it on Saturday and maybe played a couple hours max. Initial thoughts were alright I guess. Sunday was another story. Think I put in 6-7 hours lol.Been REALLY enjoying this game so far. I have about 5-6 hours into it and just want to keep playing.
It's fallout without the big open world with better quests.I bought the game on release and even bought a PS4 just to play the game, but I still haven't gotten around to playing it. It's been sitting there for a month. Guess I wasn't as interested as I thought I was. Go figure. I'll get around to it eventually...
I was surprised to hear as much negative feedback as I did. Some people enjoyed it, to be sure, but plenty seem kind of "meh" or disappointed with the experience. That surprised me, based on how well it reviewed.

Gameplay wise Fallout 4 is better than Fallout New Vegas, but New Vegas's dialogue choices make it a better game hands down. Fallout 4's dialogue "choices" completely ruined the game for me.It's fallout without the big open world with better quests.
At this moment, imo fallout 4 is a better game in every way except sidequests... and in the end, fallout 4 is my choice.
But, OW is shorter and much easier to digest (I played fallout 4 over one year, ow for one month), so if you dislike the idea of having a backlog I'd pick this.
Fallout 4 is hugely underrated imo and definitely contender of goty when released. Beats fallout new Vegas imo (I have f4 it tied with f3 for best fallout game).
Let's agree to disagree and agree that I'm right.Gameplay wise Fallout 4 is better than Fallout New Vegas, but New Vegas's dialogue choices make it a better game hands down. Fallout 4's dialogue "choices" completely ruined the game for me.

Don't in its current stage. I got it for $8 on CDKeys and I put about 15 hours into it. You end up missing NPC's way more than you thought you would. Nothing seems like it has any purpose honestly. For me F4 > New Vegas. I finished both F3 and F4 putting in over 100 hours in each. I could never make it more than 10-20 hours on New Vegas.
If Fallout 76 ever becomes free to play or hit GamePass I’ll give it a shot.

Gonna give it another go if they ever release the big update including NPC's.
Negatory. They said they were going to for the Fall update, but ended up pushing it back until Spring. Also, they released some "premium" version where you pay $12 bucks a month for something completely unnecessary to the game. Bethesda is very tone deaf when it comes to updates for the game, but I'd blame that on the publisher more so than the developers. $$$ over game playI thought they added NPCs recently?
100 hrs? That's a long time. Did you play through it more than once?Friend and I put around 100 hours and enjoyed it. Still have more to do in it but we take big chunks of games then take a break.
Nope still on the same original character.100 hrs? That's a long time. Did you play through it more than once?
Nope still on the same original character.
Edit: I'm talking about Fallout 76 btw
Currently at about 30 hours in Outer Worlds and doing the main mission on Monarch. No idea what all is left but up until now I've done just about every other quest I've been able to find.
Oh I see. I thought you were talking about Outer Worlds. nm.
I feel like it's really close. If they just expanded the scope and gameplay and tweaked a few other things it could really be amazing. A big thing for me was the combat - just having mines or grenades or something else would be a big boost.I finished it. Maybe I pick the wrong skill, but melee was too easy & boring. No skill required. Charge forward hit the attack button. That's about it. The dilog is cool, & the world can be gorgeous at times, but a lot of boring & repetitive task.
Having said that, I do look forward to sequels & hope that beef up the rpg part. The skill system is pretty shallow.
Any word if this is getting a Series X boost as well? I'd love to play back through with a graphics boost and new DLC.
