The Keighlys - VGAs December 12, 2019

Pretty disappointed with how they handled the GoT trailer, when they start showing gameplay clips they end up focusing on the orchestra more than the game.

I am glad to see Maneater is coming to consoles, yeah it's probably going to suck but I love the concept.

All things Xbox got a weird silent reaction. The crowd was dead. Even the PS5 game reveal was met with a weird silence.

I noticed that too. But award nominations for E-Sports hosts had HUGE shouts through the roof. Yet Xbox SeX, Hellblade 2 and PS God Fall were whispers.

We are just used to crowds filled with shills. Its nice seeing what a next gen console will look like but its hardly worth hooting and hollering over it.

I've seen a lot of negative reaction to how MS handled the unveiling of the console, people saying it wasn't memorable and how they had already forgotten about it half way through the show. I don't blame MS for doing things differently, as has been pointed out they do need to think outside the box and try different things and while this may not end up being a big deal one way or the other it's not like t's going to hurt them, once we hear more about specs and see real games being played people will focus on that rather than the little bit they were given last night.

I have seen like 99% positive reaction to this unveiling, and Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Resetera, Neogaf, Digital Foundry/Eurogamer are blowing UP with praise. Maybe spend less time at psu.com?

Ah so it's Godfall not Ghost of Tsushima at launch, well at least not yet. How do you say in engine gameplay when it's a cut scene? gaming companies need to stop doing this.
I'd rather they say real-time or not. That's what matters. Cutscenes can be called in-engine and real time, but not gameplay, as the can dial up models and lighting because they have scene control.

I was excited for it simply because it so unexpected. But I definitely was more hyped to see Hellblade 2.

Seeing the tweets from earlier in the day ruined any surprise for me, I expected it unfortunately.

I think overall it was pretty good, I do wish they had better direction during the GoT trailer and not showed the orchestra and yeah maybe they could have cut out that whole fast and furious segment, that games looks like s***! lol but other than that I thought it was a good show. I saw some people complaining about not having a "one last thing" final trailer at the end but this is an awards show and I think they did the right thing by making the GOTY the main event and not taking away from the winners at the end and acting like they didn't matter by airing something that would make you instantly forget them. Oh also Chvrches needs to NEVER perform with an orchestra again, they sound good live for what they are but that orchestra totally drowned out her voice lol.

Probably Debbie Downers.

This whole announce cycle is different than last gen, both companies have already acknowledged the systems were coming, given basic info on what's inside and now MS has shown the case. I don't know why anyone would be upset at anything either of them do, it's not all about E3 anymore and hasn't been for a while.

I like the that it came outta no where, we were all speculating who was gonna fire first next year, expecting a special event or something...I really thought it was a final redesign for the one as sorta an E model like they did with the 360.
