Official Thread The Division v. 2

Destiny is a sci-fi\Fantasy game it can do those things. The division series is based close to real world tech, it is very diffcult or maybe impossible for them to do that.

You're right about the setting for the Division 2 but nothing stopping them from introducing more sci-fi elements but that's not really needed. I think the bigger issue for them is there is no "jump" mechanic in The Division franchise. There's an option to mantle over objects but that's it. Division Agents are nowhere near as mobile/agile as Destiny Guardians and because of that Bungie can include different mechanics in their raids that Massive just can't do.

No raid nerf coming. Lol.

I haven’t played the raid but it doesn’t look like the PC Master Race players need a nerf. Players on PC recently put up a video completing the raid in record time of a little over 20 mins. Clearly those players aren’t having too much trouble. I’ve read its much harder on console because of slower and less precise aiming with a controller.

Isn’t there some sort of adaptor that allows for kb/mouse use on consoles? I’m asking for a friend.

I've never played the raid, but I am glad I play on PC. The game is hard with mouse + kb. I imagine with a controller it would be significantly harder.

In general , it is eay enough on console. Just the Raid has a dumbass mechanic.

It needs nerfing, end of. Won't really make any difference to PC players.

Doesn't help that the rewards are s***. No way am I spending 10 hours trying to get the first boss done for 3 s*** gearsets and an exotic weapon.

I really hope the first DLC has compelling content, cause I'm done with this game till it drops.

Well, now that its known what to do and how to do it after a little practice I doubt it will take that long to take down the first boss or complete the raid itself. I remember in Destiny how hard Vault of Glass was the first few times. But once players got the hang of it (and geared up) clearing it didn’t take long.

I’d like to check out the raid because it looks fun. I want to test my builds and see if they perform as good as I hope they would. Remember roads are for journeys not destinations so I wouldn’t focus too much on what you expect to get but rather how you get there.

People knew how to do it at launch....and we are talking about no lifer close knit clans.

I wasn't around for VOG launch. I did the Taken King raid in about 5 hours first time. Wrath of the Machine took like 3 hours.

Well, free weekend for anyone interested in giving it a try. It is free to try on all platforms Oct 17-20 (the tweet is from PS, but it is on Xbox and PC as well)

Bought the game during the holiday sale for $20 (Gold edition). Only at level 10 maybe so not that far into it, but enjoying it.

I really liked the game and had a lot of fun with it for a few months. But once I got to the point of trying to min/max my builds the game became a chore. The loot pool was so vast that the odds of getting the weapon or piece of gear I wanted were slim.

It’s the same for all the loot-shooters I’ve played. At some point the need to grind just becomes tedious and the game stops being fun. Mind you this is after many, many hours so I don’t feel cheated from any of the loot-shooters I’ve played.

I haven’t played this in awhile. I put dozens of hours into it loved what I played. Once the map reset and saw I had to recapture everything plus started the World Tiers I was ready to move on to something else. I’d like to get back into playing this again I had a blast while I was playing it.

Destiny 1 got alot right in the loot grind reward. Shame they ruined that in Destiny 2.

Took almost 3 years for D1 to be great imo.

I hope UBI keeps supporting it.

Cross play/save would be great.
Didn't. Once the Dlc started dropping the game got better and better. That didn't happen in Div 2.. I played Div 1 for 2 years. Div 2 lasted a few months.

Yeah they really dropped the ball with Div2. The end game started well but very quickly became a serious mess. And the Raid?... an absolute joke with how hard they made it. The fact they have made so many changes in this update shows much they got wrong. This wouldn't be so bad if for the fact they are now on their second entry into this game series and they just repeated all the mistakes of the first again.

I disagree on end game starting well. It was poor from day 1 and stayed that way. The whole " invasion" gimmick was poor and pointless. The exotics were poor. The checkpoints were limited and got tedious very quickly. The gearsets were s***. Build diversity was nonexistent. Then we finally get a raid and it ends up being pure trash.Easily the worst raid I have ever played.

3 years of feedback and all they did was make the good stuff bad and the bad stuff just as bad. Then they ruined the DLC for good measure.

I'll maybe check it out again but I never even got the the endgame. I think I needed to do those 3 man activities (like Destiny strikes) to finish, and by the time I got there, there was nobody in matchmaking. I need to find a group on PC to get those done.

There was something about Division 2 that just never pulled me in. It isn't that I hated the game, but it just didn't do anything special to pull me in over other games.

Honestly I think part of it is just the mechanics. In a game like Destiny I can get past the idea that magic space aliens can take 20 shots to the head, but even though Div 2 improved that a little, it is still just doesn't feel right. It makes any loot you get never feel special.

D2 isn't even a year old yet.
It's better than D1 was at this point in it's life imo.
Lol. Like that is some grand achievement or means anything at all when it suffers the same problems with less reedemable qualities. The Underground DlC>>Div 2 + its 2 DLCs.

It being a year old is a terrible excuse.

Underground wasn't out this far into D1's life.

D1 started good and got sour fast...
After years worth of upgrades the game got great.

Yes it was. Underground came out like 3 months after release. Like major DLC does.
