I have multiple so what?
If I spend $500+ I want a device that covers all my bases.
A $500-$1100 PC doesn't (in 2020) which makes XSX much more appealing IMO.

That's great that a console covers all of your bases. A console will never cover all of my bases, I use my PC for much more than just playing games.

I agree. But it’s up to developers. Let’s hope they are on the same page.

im ok if it’s a locked frame rate at 30 for the cinematic approach and ability to pour higher visual fidelity. I wanna see how far devs can take it at those rates, granted it’s depend on the game too, definitely not fighting or racing games.

Still lots of buzz about a potential Perfect Dark reboot...can’t seem to confirm anything though.

As an option, sure. I know I could give a scraggly tit whether a game is 60 or 144 fps if it consistently hits that, but other people do care. Let us choose what we want.

I literally bought a 8 core 16 thread Ryzen 1700X for 150 dollars almost a year ago. CPU horsepower is cheap to come by.

You must be overclocking to get games to 144fps. How much did you pay for your motherboard? Your CPU cooler? GPU? SSD?

It wasn't for my machine, I think the mobo was 80 bucks? GPU was 180, SSD was 70 bucks? GPU cooler? 30 bucks? Could have gone cheaper with GPU, SSD, and CPU cooler but I wanted semi-nice things for my girls rig.

So one thing I've been thinking about lately is Navi/RDNA and how it relates to the consoles, more specifically XsX.

Navi was originally supposed to be GCN, their "next gen" architecture was supposed to come AFTER Navi. Now with the RX 5XXX series not having ray tracing and it being RDNA seems to be like it's not what they truly wanted, and instead rushed RDNA to the table. Big Navi (rumored 80 CU) does indeed have HW RT like XsX confirmed by Lisa Su. So this has me thinking that RDNA2 was always meant to be their "next gen" architecture, not RDNA1.

How would you get 144 fps in a game with a $180 GPU?

I never said I did, you clearly do not read.

....

I personally don't care about ray tracing cards. Which is why I didn't spring to upgrade to an RTX card right away. I will be waiting until next gen.

I care more about 144+ Fps.

And you are willing to pay that premium on hardware to get there.

I'm not trying to get you I'm just trying to understand. Are you getting 144fps with that 1700x CPU?

Yeah, I think RDNA was held back because it needed better backwards compatibility on the console side. It should have been much better than what it was at 7nm.

So much power next generation. What are the chances someone will complain immediately?
