The End of the World: A Political Thread. A New Hope coming soon!

She may say it a time or two, but she says other stuff a lot more. You always seem to focus on some small thing to justify your preference and then assume that's the only thing. It's regrettable, but a pattern in every conversation we've had here.

Perspectives? Data? Hmff. A Jedi craves not these things.

In her speech in New Hampshire she brought up Klobuchar's 3rd place and people underestimating women lol, , she plays the identity politics game more than anyone else in the democratic field and her polling numbers have fallen like a rock. It's one thing to speak for marginalized groups but when you constantly call Latinos "LatinX" even though over 80% of Latinos polled don't like that term you know she's getting bad advice from overly woke campaign staffers. She has a bunch of Obama people working for her now as well and I'm guessing that's why her Medicare for all stance changed the way it did. She's great on a lot of issues but she keeps talking about these nonsense things and it has killed her chances.

I don't see any problem with saying the women haven't lost. We both know some voters are nervous about whether they would have a harder time because they are women. It doesn't matter if its true or not.

Nobody cares that Bernie can't pay for his plan and won't even pass most of them so complaining about stuff like that is holder her to a higher standard.

Most of the men have been in public service for a hell of a lot longer than Warren and Klobuchar so it's another misleading claim. Warren has only run for office twice, Klobuchar ran unopposed for elected office in Minnesota before going on and running for senate twice, neither one has had anywhere near as long of a political career as Bernie or Biden so of course they chances of them having any losses are pretty slim. Bernie's last loss was in 1988 for crying out loud, he has been winning since 1990.

No, Bernie is honest and says taxes will go up, she avoided answering how she would pay for her healthcare plan like the plague until she figured out adding a few more cents on the wealth tax that was already paying for everything else would cover it.

Sanders has refused to provide more details on how to pay for his plan.
When faced with sharp questions on the topic in an interview with CBS News on Friday, Sanders said “nobody knows” how much his plan would cost and that it’s “impossible to predict.”

“You’re asking me to come up with an exact detailed plan of how every American — how much you’re going to pay more in taxes, how much I’m going to pay,” he said. “I don’t think I have to do that right now.”

Earlier in the race, the other top progressive candidate, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), was the main focus of scrutiny over paying for Medicare for All.
After months of questions, Warren released a detailed plan aiming to raise $20.5 trillion to fund Medicare for All without raising middle-class taxes.
Sanders has not faced the same level of scrutiny as Warren over how to pay for his plan. But that’s starting to change now that he’s rising in the polls, replacing Warren as the leading progressive.
Unlike Warren, Sanders has brushed off questions about how to pay for the plan. The two candidates have also diverged on how they would get the proposal through Congress, which would be no easy task.

She was hurt by giving more details and being more realistic. Its a purity test and she failed it

Its no accident that candidates are hitting him on it. Its not a lie.

I am not arguing its a good reason to vote for her but its totally fair to say "I have never lost so I am the most electable". I can't really get outraged over that.

1 good thing concerning us is I've noticed in the last 3 years is there is a lack of blame on video games for everything wrong on the planet. I'm guessing Trump doesn't play video games?

I'm not outraged it's just a stupid thing for her to say, it makes her look like she's trying to pull a bit of a con job. I like her I really do I think she has some good ideas but she has run a terrible campaign and focused on the wrong things, she's getting bad advice from someone and it has ruined any chance she has at winning.

He does blame them for shootings, then again Biden called game developers knuckle heads and said they make games that teach people how to kill.

To be accurate he called an executive at a video game company a little creep. Other part is true.

Again, essentially one comment and it's all you remember. Do you.

Because it's a silly thing to bring up, we all know she's a woman she doesn't need to bring it up in every speech and debate, Klobuchar to her credit doesn't do that she's even said she doesn't want to be elected just because she's a woman. The fact that Warren is taking Julian Castro around to campaign with her who was even worse about identity politics than she is just makes it all look bad. She's got the guy who was passionate about "trans reproductive justice" in a debate to travel with her. I know what he meant when he said it but it was just a stupid thing to say and it was brought on by him trying to sound more woke than the rest of the people on stage.

Unless some drop out soon I think Bernie will get it as the other moderates are splitting the %. Similar to how the republicans stayed in to long and trump won with 30% everywhere. Rubio screwed Cruz...

The only real problem is they don't have winner take all states like Republicans so it could prevent him from getting the necessary delegates.

I can't remember if trump took all the states either though?

I don't ever count on Florida in the general anymore, I'd rather the nominee spend time in places like Arizona and maybe even Texas, Florida is too unreliable and their local elected officials don't seem to run things fairly anyway.

We did pass a Constitutional amendment last election restoring the right to vote for felons after they complete their sentence (excluding certain sex offended and maybe murder?). So, naturally, the R legislature write the law to say that it's only complete when they pay all fines and court costs because poll taxes are only illegal if it prevents white voters I guess. Yee mother f***ing ha!

Bernie leading in Nevada and Texas according to two new polls.

He's not my first choice but he's close enough. It's time that we get a Democrat in the white House who won't dream small and give up because the opposite party doesn't play along.
