SEGA Dreamcast (Mini?)

lol

"The project has been taken offline. This is due to a schism within the team caused by inefficient and amateurish conduct resulting in members being removed and others leaving the team. In light of such unprofessional behavior and an embarrassing lack of progress, seasoned members of the gaming industry have chosen to distance themselves from the project. I too am stepping away from Project Dream. Please note the Twitter account @Project_DreamDC is no longer associated with this group."

The sad thing is that if the person complaining about the amateurish and unprofessional conduct does it in such an unprofessional manner him or herself (don't know who is quoted), that's a clear sign they needed someone to be a grownup and didn't have one.

You know when I said that it didn't reach the level of the Coleco Chamleon?

Well...

3 Jun 2016 — Hello everyone. Thanks for sticking around.
We have gone through some changes but are STILL in the game!

Keep an eye out because in the coming weeks we will be releasing demonstration video of the prototype in action!

Is this the one person left, who everyone hates, working in a garage while the Facebook group and website is shut down?

I hope so.

An odd game, but when I rented DC, I played Armada. It was awesome. Think of Diablo, but in space with tiny spaceships. It was hard as shyt, where the enemies didn't scale to your ship. If you zoomed to a part of space you shouldn't have (they had this X/Y axis map), you get killed in seconds.

There was talk of an Armada 2, but I don't think many people cared about the first game.

I remember it well. Very unique game and a real bitch of a challenge. The ultimate spaceship shooter grindathon.

I can't believe this thing came out soon to be 20 years ago in the US already.

Playing through Sonic Adventure, it's actually looking pretty good still, especially the Emerald Coast level. Only one analogue stick means you move the camera left and right with the triggers... it takes awhile to get used to and is by no means perfect, but it works okay in most scenarios. Also fired up virtua tennis 2, funny it's still the best playing tennis game 20 years later lol

Mario Tennis for N64 would like to have a word with you

I don't know why I've enjoyed the Virtua Tennis games so much. It's just enjoyable sometimes playing a game where you don't have to think too much where it becomes not fun anymore.

This probably the console I'm most nostalgic for. I came into this passion in the NES era but my fondest memories are from the dreamcast.
I even bought a naomi Net City cab with original naomi hardware and netboot because of it.

Brilliant games. Don't know how many hours my mate and I spent on that

Because of all of the 1st party titles. SA, Crazy Taxi, Skies of Arcadia, Space Channel 5, Shenmue, Phantasy Star Online, Ecco the Dolphin, Virtua Tennis, Samba de Amigo, ChuChu Rocket, etc. The online component too. It was also kind of a generation ahead of its time. Everybody is now like "exclusives games are why to get a console", but in all honesty, the Dreamcast had an unmatched variety of exclusives. Has anything in 20 years compared to Dreamcast? Sony had some good ones back then too, but more recently?... maybe just Nintendo? Maybe not even that. Definitely not Sony or Microsoft now... It makes you laugh when anyone can say it's all about that, when you compare what exclusives USED to be.

Played a bit of RE3 today, it handles okay (auto aim helps a lot) even with the tank controls. Honestly don't remember much of this game, RE1 and 2 are much more recognizable for me.
Also played some dynamite deca, lol this game is more hilarious than I remember. Have to play the prequel on my Saturn again some day.

It was insane how many exclusives and unique games the console had in such a short amount of time. I had over 50 games with all sorts of controllers and wheels before the console ended. Now, I'm lucky to get 30 or so games for consoles these days.

I just wanted to add on to this that a few months ago I picked up a Dreamcast bundle of a lifetime.

for 125 dollars shipped on ebay, I got:

Dreamcast console and all cables
1 controller
2 VMU's
mouse
Keyboard
BROADBAND ADAPTER (worth about 150 on it's own)
PSOv2
Sonic Adventure Limited edition (very rare)
and a few other games not really worth mentioning, and yes it all works.

Oh please...

This

I have my DC connected via hdmi and considering replacing the disc drive with sd-slot, but if this mini becomes reality and comes with wireless controllers...I might considering it instead, there's no wireless DC controllers atm I'm afraid.
