Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone - shutting down September

@Sunset is that you!?
I am critical of the game as I have higher expectation & wanted the game to improve. The game mode has a lot of potentials, but there are a lot of areas to improve it if it is to be a proper long term challenger to other established BR games like Fortnite & Apex, instead of something that died of after 1 month when the hype is over.

Obviously the game is new & need balances & fine-tuning, & it's unfair to compete with BR games out for ages. People who quit prematurely are a serious issue (in people having fun) in squad IMO that needs addressing. I play Fortnite with fandom at times too, but teammates that quit prematurely happened far less often.

Also, the vast majority of players don't use a mic, & the in-game ping system can be improved further.

Personally I am divided about loadout. On one hand, it provides more consistency, as you can get the exact weapons/perks etc & it reduces the luck of looting. On another hand, one of the charms of BR is you never know what loot you get, & you need to be able to play with the cards you are given or make your own luck by looting more or killing more to get their loot.

There are improvements needed, but this game is no worse shape than Apex, and Apex is over 1 year old.

Here are some of my thoughts on changes and improvemts.

1.) One hit snipers have to go.
2.) Load out drop needs to be more expensive.
3.)PIng system needs some refinement.
4.) Audio needs fixing.
5.)Every dead body should drop 2 armour plates.
6. Built up areas like downtown have way too man y playable rooftops.
7.)Claymores, bouncing betties don't do enough damage.

I agree with all of your points. I wanted to add that there need to be accessible options in audio & visuals, like in hmmm.....Fornite. Not everyone has surround sound, can play with high volume or audible. Fortnite, for instance, has visual cue of footsteps & chest when nearby that is very useful where audibility is an issue.

Ping system could have a simple Yes/No instead of need to open a map, click on the ping to approve, which is slow S on the controller.

There is a lot of QoL in visuals & interface. Why is the map a greyscale? We are in 2020, not 1945. Also, The UI is so small, & all-white (again why?)& if you have a small TV screen like mine, it's a pain in the S to see what you actually have in my UI (particularly the throwables). Maybe better shape, bigger UI as option, or a magical thing call color will help.

To know where something is, like a shopping cart, I often need to zoom the map, Color coding key locations will be a great QoL improvement.

Playing the campaign on the X1X. The FPS drop is a nightmare as are the hiccups.

I bought campaign on PS4. I was shock how challenging the game is even on regular mode. Thankfully the checkpoints are forgiving.

its visually much better than the MP, probably due to lowering FPS.

Anyway not to be Negative Nancy, but it’s a bit disappointing that they removed aim assist in on PC using controller. What I understand is the aim assist is very strong on controller ( on console) & unless you are super pro with mouse aim like shroud, you will have struggle against controller players.

I have been re downloading the Pc version for 4 days now (at 700kb/s) Expect to finish by end of week , and I will be able to test if playing on controller on console better or mouse/ KB on PC is better.

I much prefer to play on PC, as it is more powerful, but I am not self handicapped myself due to input.

If it takes you that long to download a game, how is your internet even good enough to play online MP?

I live in a 3rd world country. So I have to make do. I check & it's not uncommon here for the download speed I experienced. Playing games has never been an issue. In online games, ping is more critical than bench width speed. In any case, I will upgrade once the quarantine period is over & things are back to normal.

Have to rant. After painstaking 5 days of finally downloaded the game, the tried to play warzone twice, crashed to desktop twice....I never had the worst experience on a game on PC for a while.

Edit summary:
Using mouse/KB is a disadvantage (shockingly) due to the strong aim assist from the controller on the console. Have a series of awful gulag runs with almost all matches lost.

Finally had a decent game &...game crushed. I think its a sign that that's the end for the game for me. I will finish the campaign & move on.
Also, CP point is not cross-platform. but Battle-pass is (which includes CP unlock)..... I have 500CP on my PS4 & Zero CP on my PC

Anybody having issues??
My game keep crushing on PC.
Anyway I finished the campaign. Super short but pretty well done. I haven’t play a single player game for a while and it’s ,ore chill and relax. The hardest part is shocking is security level where you give instruction t a lady how to escape. There is a part I was stuck for like 30 mins.

Price is pretty badass. But why is he still captain. He should be at least colonel by now.

A buddy and I just finished 3 kills a piece win. I got 4 wins now.

Any word what’s coming in the new update?
Content wise: New 6v6 map called Khandor Hideout. In Warzone they are adding 4 new common/uncommon weapons, EBR, MK2 Carbine, 50GS, and that over under shotgun.

In terms of fixes/changes, not got a clue.

Me and my group we're experiencing some weird lag and trouble hearing enemies footsteps.

Finally won a few games of plunder, still trying to get that elusive BR win got second and third a few times so close!

Anyone else having problems with their friends list on XBox? It will go from showing 0 online to 40 something friends back to zero then it just shows a couple at a time. Been doing this the last couple days.

Yep I've been noticing that lately as well.

Most of the 20 odd friends I add no longer plays. The game is not fun to play without friends. You can say the same for Fortnite, but it wasn't as bad as warzone. I ended up playing solo in Squad most time. People just leave after died in the gulag. Can't blame them. Few people have the patience to spectate 5-15 mins waiting to be redeployed.

I think the redeploy idea is good on paper but awful in reality. On paper, it encourages people to stay in a game after they die as you have a chance to respawn. The problem is
a) people (especially in squad fill) have no patience (understandable) to wait for long time, hopeful teammates res them. When a teammate is down, I will go out of the way to gather money to respawn them, only for them to quit before I can redeploy them.

b) Many people has little interest to get downed teammates back. So many time after I die, often due to go out of the way to revive/support them, to speculated them camping in a room for an extended time. What do you expect me to do? Watching him/her camp in a room, or leave game.

Playing with randoms in BR is always a terrible experience. Solos should always be an option.

I understand of course playing with friends is much better, which is one of the reasons I play Fortnite much more.

But a PvP game cannot be design such that its only enjoyable with friends. The game must be designed such that you can get a decent experience playing with randoms.
Besides, unless you already have many friends that play the same game, The common ways to make friends play with randoms, & add good ones as friends.

The add friend feature in WZ is awful as well. You either have to search 100s of the name in your play recently list (because for reason, it doesn't filter players you play as a team) or type the exact username with no option of search. Also, there may be some bugs. None of the friends on my blizzard friend list has accepted my friend request ( I am talking about people I already friend with Diablo 3).

No such thing. Randoms are randoms and are the cause of the bad experience, not the game. Even Apex with its SBMM was horrible as skill is variable and remains so even in a strict skill bracket.

I don’t like playing with randoms in any MP game. Why I only play with friends or play something else.

Playing with friends is always better, but randoms are fine in most shooters cause you have respawning and the modes are simple. BRs not so much, they require teamwork, which is not in the randoms vocabulary. I mean how hard is it to do something simple, like sticking with your team?

Honestly, just thinking about how randoms play in BRs pisses me off.
