They came out with the Pacific free expansion and there was hope. They added some great maps and the US and Japan. Things were looking up, when they decided to severely change the game to make the time to kill extremely long and noob friendly (BF is already a game with a longer TTK). They reduced the range of most guns so that rifles were useless. That just killed the game for most.

It could have been good, but there were just so many problems. Tons of major bugs all throughout.
That right there is why they can f*** off. They finally had a game that was good and despite their community pleading for them not too change itt asgain they just ignored it and ruined it, again.

Battlefield 6' Maps And Battles Will Be Absolutely Massive, Claims Industry Insider
10:55, Friday 14 August 2020 BST

A reliable industry insider has suggested that the in-development Battlefield 6 is going big. Seriously big. Tom Henderson, a leaker with a proven track record when it comes to all things EA, has offered fans a little tease of what to expect from the upcoming FPS in terms of scale.

Writing on Twitter, Henderson claimed that the game's core multiplayer is being designed around the classic 32-vs-32 battles that fans of the franchise are familiar with. Despite this, he believes that Battefield 6 will be capable of much, much more than that, with battles taking place across maps designed for more than 128 players.
Henderson wouldn't confirm whether or not this means DICE will introduce 64-vs-64 modes to Battlefield 6, but he did claim that EA and DICE are considering having another crack at the battle royale genre in response to the success of Call Of Duty: Warzone.

By all accounts, is sounds very much like the upcoming entry will be the biggest and most ambitious Battlefield to date. EA teased the massive scope of the upcoming game during EA Play earlier this summer, promising that Battlefield 6 will "create epic battles at a scale and fidelity unlike anything you've experienced before". Colour me intrigued.
While we still don't know exactly what era the new game will be set in, rumours do suggest that the FPS will return the franchise to a modern day setting. Although again, the teaser footage didn't do much to confirm or deny these reports.

A few months back, Henderson implied that the new game will be inspired by 2011's Battlefield 3, a popular entry set in the modern day. 2016's Battlefield 1 took the shooter back to World War I, while 2018's Battlefield V was focused on World War II. It's been some time since Battlefield has taken place in a contemporary setting, but it seems likely the success of 2019's Modern Warfare reboot convinced EA and DICE to head back towards the modern world for Battlefield 6.

In terms of a release date for the title, it sounds like 2021 is looking the most likely. Just a few months ago, EA basically confirmed that Battlefield 6 would be released in 2021, noting that DICE had already pretty much wrapped up work on Star Wars Battlefront II and Battlefield V.
"The team at DICE is working on the standalone Battlefield V update releasing this summer, and continuing their work on delivering Community Games," an EA spokesperson said.
"While the studio's vision for Star Wars Battlefront II is now complete with this week's The Battle on Scarif Update, the servers, in-game challenges, recurring events and game support will continue as the game lives on with players and the community. We're looking forward to hearing players' stories for both games, for years to come.
"Longer term, the studio is focused on the future of Battlefield that we'll be bringing to players in 2021."

BF fans told them to make tge BR in BF5 free to play. As usual they didn't listen. Funny, cause it was an obvious no brainer.

They have alot of bridges to rebuild after the disaster known as BF5.

BF5 was a disaster. The maps are terrible in general. The balance is woeful. The ignorance is discpicable and ToW was absolute garbage.

BC3 isn't happening, and if it did, it would be in name only. BC was a bridge that is no longer needed.

I still want it. I loved BC1 and BC2. I loved the humor.

I know a lot of people hate on BF5 but damn it's awesome, the new maps have been great, the sound design, graphics, the way the buildings crumble are all top notch I can't wait to see them improve on what they already have.

I could not agree more. The game is AWESOMESAUCE.

BF V was a great game and an awful failure.

They tried to create a live service game, but were super slow to update. They had all these grand designs to start with the early war and add in a bunch of other maps and theaters, but it came far too slow. After the pacific came out, the game was actually really fun for a bit.

Then, they messed with the time to kill. Games like COD MW were hugely successful with incredibly fast TTK, but EA decided to "noobify" this game even more. Suddenly you should shoot people multiple times, but they could just run away and heal. The community asked to put it back, but they refused, and the players slowly left after that.

For this game, all they need to do is listen to the BF community and not try to make the game for a wider audience. Give us a modern version of BF4 and most people will be happy.

Makes me think about why we don't have more games like the original America's Army, ARMA, Project Reality. WE want realistic games on the console, but are there not enough of us? Sure Americas Army is on console, but it has zero people playing.

it's far better than bf1.

BF4 is great and needs xsx upgrades.

I hope BF6 is good. I hope they take a step back to BF4 and build from there.

I just did not like BF1 and BF5. Something about those games didn't feel like battlefield.

A bad company 3 would also be awesome. I'm pretty sure I spent over 1,000 hours in Bad Company 2.

I’m interested in a new BF with huge battles. I’ve been playing BF for over a decade. BFV just didn’t do it for me. Maybe I should give it another go it has been while since I’ve played it again.

The Pacific maps were good.

But in general, Way too much focus on CQB maps, and even the bigger maps are poor BF experiences. Very unbattlefield. Balancing was woeful.

BF5 is the worst BF to date. It isn't even close.

Hope BF6 is an actual BF game.

BF1 was decent. TTK wss a bit too long imo, though.

BF has lost its way. Needs to go back to its roots.

Can't wait for matches above 64 players, hopefully they don't double the size of maps to make that happen. Some maps in BF5 can feel like complete ghost towns even with 64 players.
