The Last of Us Part 2 - New Trailer Contains Spoilers

Well I read the thread and have seen your posts in it so I do have trouble taking you seriously because of them but I would honestly like to hear what you you think is so bad about it (in spoilers)
I too have hard time taking you seriously after reading your posts in this here thread my suspicious friend, but here we go;
Joel dies, in a total out of character careless way.
Ellie leaves her family for revenge knowing she'd lose Dina and JJ, wtf?
After all s*** she goes through for revenge (losing fingers lol) she all of a sudden spares abby, wtf?
The Rattlers... feels unimaginative and cliche.
The story as a whole is messy and almost every character from the last game are out of character and handled poorly, the new introduced characters and motives vs the recurring characters feels schizophrenic.
I try to imagine this as a movie and it feels like a badly written 4.5/10 IMDb direct to streaming on a budget while the first one would be around a 7.5/10.

I have seen people say Joel would be more careful but I don't understand that as he isn't in the first game. Pretty similar situation presents itself in the first game in fact. Just seems like something where people are looking to complain.

Most of the stuff you talk about is explained and that is what I mean when I say things lack context. A character doing a thing you don't want them to do doesn't equal them being out of character. I can't think of a single thing of note where I would say "Oh yeah I don't believe they would do that".

And I do think that is where a lot of the complaints come from (excluding stupid nonsensical "woke" complaints) wanting the characters to have the fate I want or to do what I think they should do. I want Joel to live and I certainly don't want to play as his killer who does live and I want Ellie to have the happy ending she is offered. Not getting that means its badly written for many.

Credit it to Naughty Dog for having the balls to kill Joel knowing some people may never be able to get passed that. They could have rehashed the first game.

It's badly written though, I really don't know what else to say, you clearly have some sort of an agenda considering you don't seem to accept differing opinions (or facts in this case).

I don't know how you can figure that since I specifically asked you to share that opinion

Overall it's not badly written though, there are issues with how they chose to structure some thing IMO but the writing overall isn't bad. I've said this before but this feels like it should have been the 3rd game in a trilogy not so much a sequel, a lot of things would have clicked better for people who are actually open to accept changes being made if we had more time getting to know the new place Ellie and Joel live in as well as the new characters that have been introduced. There is one character a lot of people don't seem to like (me included) and I don't think that was their goal so yeah they didn't hit the mark on everything but it's not bad it could just be better.

As far as other things you mentioned about the first game, the gameplay in this one is quite a bit better and some areas are pretty open which allows for exploration etc. It took me a little over 24 hours to finish it accord to the game clock, there are over 8 hours of cinematics in the game and there are also a few scripted areas that pop up here and there where you just walk and talk and don't have much control so it's a significantly longer experience overall compared to the first one.

Gameplay might be better, but that's not what carried the first game... at all. It might be better in this one (haven't played it) but the story clearly is what people play this series for. And the story isn't good. I like you, but at the moment, the ones defending this game here is either sony defenders or semi sjw (that for some reason thinks that's why people thinks the story is bad).
I can't really argue about it anymore, if you guys like the way they told this videogame story, great for you, I believe they did fvcked it up though and I'm clearly not alone.

I enjoy the game, but not because I think the story is good. I don't think it's a great narrative, but story in videogames is typically very low on my list of what I want to be good. There are many things the story does that are confounding, non-sensical or just plain devoid of logic or reason. Unlike the first game the story of this one is not one of it's biggest strengths, that said, for a videogame, it's still kind of better than a lot of what else is out there, but thats due more to the bar being so low anyway imo lol...

I don't think that is why everyone doesn't like it but I do think its why some people don't like it. For 2 months that is what this thread was complaining about and its still what other places are complaining about.

I just realized that i had two 50 dollar PSN gift cards from last christmas that I never used. I used them to buy the game and I already am not a fan of playing as Abby.

I think it is the best looking game this gen. There isn't a comparison. Not even on PC.

I'm not too far in but maybe like 45 mins, I haven't seen anything impressive yet, quite the opposite actually. Hopefully that changes soon

In Seattle now day one. Wasn’t a fan of the Joel scene. Not a lot of gameplay yet. Just finished my first puzzle. So far it’s pretty good.

Completely a stretch IMO. I made it to Seattle and I am just not seeing anything impressive. It's great looking but not Wow'ing me like UC4 did when i first played it. Last game that Wow'd me was Doom Eternal on Ultra Nightmare on PC.

Only played a couple hours so far so it's hard to throw out too much in terms of impressions. Have only killed infected so far. All I can say at this point is that the beginning stuff makes me hate what I know with the spoilers even more. Start of the game make you remember why you liked Ellie and Joel and their dynamic. I'm not looking forward to the switch to a revenge cycle.

Didn't play the game, but watched my buddy do it while streaming. Seems good overall. Needed more zombie s*** in the main plotline. Too much human drama. Also, I felt like the epilogue needed more exposition. Considering the amount of time spent on Abby, you'd think they'd give us more backstory on this world post-game.

Nah it really doesn't. The infected are enough as enough as they're intense as hell. Watching a video does not capture the sense of tension and dread facing them.
