So, I finally got good internet installed at my house after 750000 years. For now, I'm using a wireless connection and my download speed is fluctuating between 5MB and 25MB+ per second. Is that normal on PSN, or is the wifi causing it to be so random? I could keep a steady 1MB per second speed on satellite, so I'm not sure if there's something with this new wifi/modem thingy or PSN.

Fluctuating on PSN and XBL is normal. Wired and wireless. What speed did you end up getting anyway?

I paid for the 500mbps package since they jacked the prices up just before they brought service to this area. This is the speed I get on this phone 30 feet from the modem/router thing. I haven't gotten around to testing a wired connection.

Well, my speeds on PSN and XBL are pretty consistent with my service provider speed. However, I "BELIEVE" PSN speeds might be throttled right now due to COVID-19 still, unless they changed it.

I was able to download a 78gb game in about an hour and a half this morning, so I'm beyond pleased about it. I've spent the same amount of time on satellite internet downloading a 300mb update before.

I bought a year of the PS+ stuff and tried a few different games online for the first time in like a dozen years and I keep getting killed. :(

“Git Gud”? 😎

cuz I can’t

I'm 10 years too late for that. I don't have the time to invest in games, plus I'm getting too slow to keep up and don't understand wtf I'm doing in any games. I downloaded COD WWII and understand free for all matches, since that's the type of stuff I could play 15 years sgo on dialup. Now, everything is too confusing and complicated. I just want to kill stuff and/or people.

you can get good just by having fun and enjoying the games you like. I do play halo 5 mp, and try to play anything new on my back catalog...which is the main reason, for me, to play more halo 5 lol looking at my list is intimidating but I just beat ori and am now playing the sequel.

You have gamepass? If not you may want to try it for some of its indie offerings, lots of simple and entertaining games that cater to some silly nonsense but can get really deep.

I rarely finish any game these days. I haven't even opened up any of the games I've bought this year. I used to be good at games years ago. The more games advance, the more there is to learn and I DON'T LIKE TO LEARN. I'm probably more lazy than bad at the games. I don't want to put in the effort to learn all of the stuff....just want to play.

I sold my X1 a year and a half ago because the system required an internet connection too much and I couldn't update games or download the remainder of games not included on the disc (Forza Horizon 4). My computers are too weak/old for any PC gaming at this point.

Understandable, will that change now tha you have fast internet?

I think I understand what it is to be a PS fan now. Buy a console, buy a bunch of great single player games that I never get into.

Finally started Spider Man lol. Fantastic game. Absolutely lives up to the hype so far (I think I'm well in).

Game is sort of hard but fun and rewarding.

I just started up Nioh, it's kicking my ass but I really like it, I keep dying by getting impatient and improve with every life.

Got killzone as well, pretty average couple hours in I doubt I'll play it much more.

Bit late to the party but just picked up God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn for £15 and £12 respectively. Won’t be able to play for a few days but I can’t wait. Love a bargain too.

Why are you angry? Or are you hangry?
I'm not a very nice person, that's why. Plus, I absolutely have to take my Pro apart now and I'm worried about ruining it. That also makes me mad.

Well you can work on being a nice person! It’s more satisfying!

I am not even gonna bother taking mine apart now. Gonna leave it as is for a trade in for the PS5.

If you feel like attempting it, this is a LONG and extremely detailed video on doing it.

That video above was a big help. Doing everything was pretty easy. The hardest part is getting the top and bottom to come off. I swapped out the thermal pads and cleaned up the old and generic paste that was mostly on the motherboard with a light coating still on the chip. It's as quiet now as it was when I bought it. I'm quite pleased so far.

      • Messages have been added to the screen during parties. When you select messages, you’ll see the messages exchanged between members of your group.
      • The public/private settings for parties have been removed. Only members of the group can join the party.

I like the parties stuff. I have go keep.making a private party each time I play GTA online in order to mute everyone because people are annoying.

Do you mute yourself? :tounge:
