Damn, one of my favorite films from his was Tigerland.
I didn't know he motorized/controlled R2 in the prequels. This one hurts. The guy was brilliant but also seemed to be just a genuinely good person.

And he built Geoff.
I’m sorry, but Geoff sounds like John Oliver, to me
So he was only 85? I'm trying to wrap my head around this. He was in Cocoon in 1985, playing a retiree who discovered a swimming pool with alien incubators. So he was actually 50 years old at the time??? That's so weird. I'm 46 years old, and I look closer to 20 than to how he looks at that time. As a matter of fact, that means he was my age in The Thing... my mind is blown!
I agree. I can’t believe he was still alive for that matter. So he was only 85? I'm trying to wrap my head around this. I could have sworn that he already died, too. I'm going to just do what everyone else who has bad or false memories does, and claim the Mandela Effect.I agree. I can’t believe he was still alive for that matter.
Same. He seemed like he was 80 in the 80s.
