I think the success of one has very little to do with the failure of the other here. Sony should be fine; I’m sure they have ways to get out of a financial bind before the entire ship sinks. I think success or failure is more likely to be determined by how they are able to navigate the changes in the industry.

I don't want MS to fail. Otherwise, Sony will become Monopoly & all the devil tails will be out, as the big techs. Next-gen will be even worst for MS. BY a landslide unless something drastically changes.

If I am head of MS studio this is what I will do.

-Put all the failing executives include jacket guy at the chopping board, & fire them.
- First-hand studio to make games that make full use of next gen hardware. Have external studio rework game for last gen if needed
- Reduce royalty of game, like Epic did. 85:15% split.
- Make gamepass free 1st year
- Lower price of box to PS5

Sort of on topic, I beat Halo 5 last night with a couple of buddies and it was great. Had a lot of fun with it coop, and am really looking forward to whatever this new one brings.

I'm sorry for this controversial take

I was playing Halo Reach on the X tonight. Felt a bit inspired after all this Halo talk. I've played a lot of enhanced BC games since the One X launched but Reach doesn't hold up as well technically as other games did at 4K. Not in terms of textures. In contrast, Gears 2 felt like a current gen game at 4K. Reach is still interesting to look at due to the skyboxes and art. I'm hoping Infinite is able to capture some of the classic games in terms of making interesting looking environments. Getting back to Reach gameplay really brought me back to what I saw in the Infinite demo. Outside of a few levels (like Swords of Sanghelios) open sandbox areas have been missing from 343 games and I'm really looking forward to this return to more dynamic play areas. One gameplay aspect that is severely frustrating in Reach is the friendly AI. One of the areas that's supposed to benefit most from the Slipspace Engine is the AI. I'm looking forward to them showing this off at the harder difficulties. If it's an evolution, it could take Halo gameplay up another level.

When playing Halo 5 I remember thinking that I would sacrifice visual fidelity if it meant wider areas, better AI and the ability to pack areas with more enemies and stuff going on. Halo is remembered fondly due to it's gameplay, art and lore. As long as they can nail the sandbox and AI, I'm ready for whatever they have at launch.

I really loved the movement, guns, and visuals in Halo 5 though. Once you get used to the controls you feel like a badass boosting around the battlefield and flanking enemies

You do not need to be a game developer to say a game looks bad, just like you do not need to be a musician to say a song is terrible or a director to say a movie is bad.
 
I created a console sales thread specifically to stop the bulls*** here. The fact that people insist that this thread is where they want to have that disucssion is further evidence you have no intentions of doing it in good faith. Its meant to turn this forum into a s***hole and you're continuing to succeed.

Anymore posts about sales/"Teh MiCroS0ft is teh D00med!"/Revenue reports from apparent forum Microsoft Stakeholders/etc are going to be deleted and warnings/thread bannings will fall..

Second time I'm issuing a warning for this thread and I'm getting pretty irritated. Like Irritable Bowel Syndrome but with console war asshatery.
