For someone who doesn't consider Sony as their competition anymore or how many consoles they sell, Phil Spencer sure is focused heavily on what Sony are doing with their console. So.... Sony decided to keep a lid on everything they were doing up until the last minute, to give Microsoft no clue to what they were holding so that they couldn't react. This is how Microsoft ended up blinking first; Sony ran the clock all the way down, and now they are ready.

they both kept a lid, no? Just one happened to have a third party leak their info and they reacted almost immediately...no blinking, just side-eye of shock :p but Sony has always kept a tight lip this gen, even when their ps slim/pro designs got leaked.

Well he was talking about price points and saying he knows what price range they can sell for and how he had free reign to price it competitively. Then add in that we only just learned the price months after he said that.

So, take from that what you will.

His ignorance is hilarious. He is banging on about looks like any of the consoles over the last 3 decades actually look good. I got a PS4 infront me, guess what, it looks like a dull boring box.

No games coming soon...isn't that pretty much a playstation owners early life? Cause Sony is well known for starting slow on the games front.

You can choose to believe that but we all know what happened. They blinked and it was followed by Sony announcing that they would only talk about VR and no PS5 news of any kind.

The FACTS? Phil Spencer exhausted his entire hand earlier in the game, leaving him no more steam in the tank to pressure nor wait for Sony to announce their plans before he and his team finally cracked. Why do I say that, you may ask? Simple. Phil Spencer said it himself right here:



That announcement was going to take place ANYWAY the following week, but it was only after Sony made THIS announcement. But on that same night did someone near him say to hell with it. As soon as Sony got word that the team folded, that is when they announced their streams days later otherwise they would have kept pushing it back like they've been doing this entire time.

So again, you can choose to believe they didn't fold, but it's clear they did.

Their "leak" came from within their party. It's not like anyone else had access to the price and trailer. And if Phil was going to announce the price that following week even after he had intentions on waiting for Sony, then it's clear he, too, was exhausted in waiting for Sony to break.
