GoW isn't going to PC and neither is Horizon, Sack Boy or GT. We could keep this list going and it still wouldn't be enough for you to get the point. So their is a difference.

And if everyone expected that price, then we would not have had a dozen comments talking about a $550 to $600 price tag on a lower spec system, don't you think?

One new third party "exclusive" also going to PC : FFXVI. One new first party game with no date, trailer or anything: GOW. Everything else they showed is either multiplatform ( black ops) or something they've already showed before. Of course, in true Sony fanboy fashion, the highlight of the show is getting to pay again to play a game you already beat two generations prior, because backwards compatibility and improvements when free don't matter, but when you have to pay for them again they're just f***ing awesome.

And anyone who said anything above $500 after the xsx reveal should have known better. Of course, so should everyone believing Sony when they say that they believe in generations and that Horizon is only possible on next gen before it gets out that it's also coming to PS4.

😂 Dude you do know that those pictures are even worse?

Omg put them back!

Edit:
Well well well
A convo is going on about this right now.

My point isn't that it looks great, but that the overreaction was severe. It does not look bad, it just looks ok. Not what I wanted to see from its next gen showing, but servicable. Saying it looks like a 360 game is smooth- brain.

That said, it looked great to play. I want to PLAY it now. Also with that said, If i have to wait, at least I'll get a better version.

5 or 6 years later? HZD was released in 2017, and is still one of this gen’s biggest exclusives.

Gimmie a minute to do that math...wait...2020 minus 2017....got it! No wait, one more minute...

Not only will more Sony games be going to PC, but it will be happening faster.

Again, feel free to mark this post.

Edit: And why would anyone care? I think it’s great. My friend in the gaming industru is always stressed and works crazy hours. The last time I saw him in Seattle in January, he looked like he aged 20 years!

It’s more money for devs without having to invest the time and resources in a totally new game. It’s good for the industry, and that’s good for gamers.

Keep fighting that good fight.

And since you are still looking into that crystal ball of yours gathering these outcomes, do you mine telling me where the Last of Us is, not TLoU 2 but just the original version? How about Uncharted.......any of them? Silent Hill? What about Astro Bot VR? Can you tell me where that is at least? What about Knack? Can you at least tell me where this is?

Do you see where I am going with this? These are older titles, and you have yet to see them on PC, but you saw Horizon. Do you know why that was? It was a RANDOM PICK simply to appease those on PC that don't have a PlayStation. That is it. For you to think ALL of Sony's first party exclusives are going to end up on PC -- especially in record time, is a far fetch dream that is being used to help ease the disappointing fact that this is what's happening with the competition's platform. Sony doesn't share the same importance for PC as Microsoft.

That's ironic because if memory serves me correctly, BC was the huge talking point for for next-gen, especially when those games were in higher resolution. Now it seems to be moot since it is packaged with the PS5 system. But let's entertain that for a second: Let's say that person that never got a PlayStation ends up picking up that system. What if they never beat or played those games? Does that mean that they shouldn't get it now? I mean, because that sounds about like BC when it was being hyped through the roof while a lot of others kept stressing how exclusives and next-generation titles mattered more.

Moreover, you speak of exclusives going to the PC but fail to mention those on the other platform where ALL OF THEM (Halo, Fable, Gears, Forza, etc) are not only going to PC but to the original consoles and mobile devices. So if you want to downplay one or two exclusives going to a PC, which still grants them exclusivity to home consoles, you should probably look at where you are standing first as you are right smack in the middle of a feeding frenzy where everyone gets a bite.

And FYI, there are games coming to the system that are completely exclusive such as Demon Souls, Rachet and Clank, GoW, Astro Bots, and even GT just to name a small few, and that is just the short term. This is where hardware starts to matter since this is where you can only experience these titles. Also, for the record, they never said Horizon was only possible on the next-gen, they said Rachet and Clank was, which tells me that they very clearly still believe in next-gen hardware.

It is only considered "twistin" when you don't like what is being twisted. Had the shoe been on the other foot, your tone would have changed.

Flipping and flopping as always.

This was very obvious, and it only solidifies what Sony had been saying all along about why they have chosen to concentrate their next gen titles exclusively to their next gen hardware rather than allowing the previous generation or just a weaker platform to hold it back. Of course though, Phil Spencer has to defend this because GamePass is the crucial puzzle piece that links all these platforms together. But at the expense of supporting a wide range of platforms, a unique or robust piece of hardware can lose its identity and purpose in that process.

Lmao!

When all of their games either end up on the PS4 or a service where it eliminates the use of a designated platform, then you can come talk to me about flip flopping. Until that time comes, all of your cherry picking is only making your argument seem silly when the difference pales in comparison. You could get a PC and a PS4 right now and you would STILL be locked out from playing PS5 exclusives - not later on in the distant future but right at launch. I bet you can't say the same for the opposition and THOSE titles are coming late in the future.

Hardware matters and exclusives matter even more when they are on that hardware otherwise it loses its purpose. PERIOD

isn’t the purpose to play and enjoy the time with said game, the world it takes place and sometimes with others...that’s why we’re here, no?

I don't agree that it should be done at the expense of removing the face of a platform, though. What is the purpose of you even having a console anymore?

the ease of not worrying about drivers, hardware compatibility or spending many times over what a console cost.

The only game I’ve played in years is sea of thieves, because my niece, friend or gf is on my Xbox and loading is much faster lol.

Aren’t the biggest seller first party games of this gen on Nintendo, specifically BotW

So you admit to twisting. Anyway...just an observation. Carry on warrior.

You've been walking in a pretty big mess and you've ignored it. When i point it out, you call it "twistin." If you failed to see that, then it is you that is "twistin" or refuse to see the very mess you've stepping in.

Is it me or do either of the new consoles lacking any marking of dvd/4k on the actual units? Will we have to download the license/app in order to play them?

For the price of a kick ass gaming PC, I can have the PS5, XSX and the new Switch whenever it comes out.

Admittedly, that's a lot of devices. So I can see why a PC/ PS5 combo would be attractive.
I haven't had a PC for several years and don't really miss not having one.

Half-life Alyx tested my will though.

You can still do all of that without losing your own identity. The other competitors do it all the time. But imagine if someone like Nintendo didn't. Where do you think they would be right now in the console space? Forget Sony, how does someone like Nintendo beat out Microsoft? Hardware and exclusives is how they do it.

I don't even think it is a matter of no PC.

Look at the Steam hardware results. If you get Series X games on your PC 9 times out of 10 most of them are going to be playing at inferior settings.
I think that is what people need to understand. Not everyone has a gaming PC, and even LESS have a gaming PC that pushes better visuals then the XSX will push.
Everyone acts like the PC is a completely issue free alternative to the Xbox. I'm a PC gamer and I can tell you it isn't clean cut. Driver updates, Windows potentially destroying your SSD, hardware incompatibilities, etc.

It is NOT everyone's cup of tea and I honestly believe most people who say 'PS5/PC' have potato PCs. Hell the Steam hardware stats pretty much prove this.

Nintendo does it with charm, innovation and often renovating what their ips are. Granted, before, they tend to do it once per generation of theirs. Sony’s closest bet is their Japan Studio and MS relies on their partnerships with smaller studios...all three already nearing or at double digits of their biggest franchises.

Besides theyve already made identities for themselves, what they need is more games to validate ones purchase
