Zenimax Media/Bethesda

"One of the things that has me most excited is seeing the roadmap with Bethesda’s future games, some announced and many unannounced, to Xbox console and PC including Starfield, the highly anticipated, new space epic currently in development by Bethesda Game Studios. "

That is crazy.

Sad day for the industry. Good day for fanboys.

Well, it's ONE way to by money hat 3rd party exclusives... by buying 3rd parties...

Still crazy. Honestly, I don't like the centralization of these industries. It was disastrous when Autodesk essentially bought up all the big 3d programs, but at least there is still very strong competition between the big players here.

Their games will stay multiplatform at least for a little while. Microsoft will want to maximize the money after putting out that much.
I assume the ones still in contract. But MS already stated this year that they won't be developing any new games for the competition.

“Going forward, all of our internal studios, and the new studios we’ve added, will be focused on making games for our platforms and we have no plans to expand our exclusive first-party games to any other consoles,” Greenberg told MCVUK.

“Those teams, going forward, will be focused on making games for our platforms. So while we know there’s existing commitments in place, take The Outer Worlds as an example, there was already a commitment to make that game available as a multiplatform title and we’ll continue to honour that.”

We want competition but not the competition to see who is going to buy everyone first. This will only lead to Sony making more exclusive deals or acquisitions

Well that is a year old. Greenberg might not have been thinking they would own Bethesda at that point.

But yeah maybe after the games they are working on now are out

If they lose access to DOOM and Elderscrolls, it could well drive them to make some purchases. Think they will buy up Capcom or Square?

Crazy stuff. Never expected this. Personally, I don't care if Sony guys get to play the games, but damn if it doesn't show dedication!
