Help Picking a New TV

I'm between the Samsung Q80 and Sony X900, although the X900 seemed to lack a few features like FreeSync, although maybe it has been updated via firmware? The addition of Dolby Vision is a big positive though.
Yeah XSX is using Dolby Vision so that automatically disqualifies any Samsung.

Freesync isn't as big of a deal as 120 fps/VRR that the Sony does have.

Interesting reading the comments, because Sony reps are answering the questions directly. So the 950H isn't HDMI 2.1..? Any other differences?

Also, for anyone interested, this was in the comments:

"Every video showing this tv off I can see the corners are dimmer than the rest of the tv and it's really noticeable."

Hi Isaiah, Thank you so much for your feedback. Picture quality depends on the signal and content. This issue can be fixed by changing the picture settings according to your preferences. You may check out this link for more information https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/husltn2/v1/en-003/01-03-09_01.html?hl=picture+quality. I hope this helps! - Romeo

Corners being dimmer and noticeable in white screen tests is called vignetting and is common in LED TV's.
Good news is it varies from panel to panel(panel lottery) and isn't a issue when watching real content,at least not in my experience.

I'd rather have darker corners than brighter. Before I got my current plasma I tried LCD/LED and the corners were brighter. Very annoying for movies with black bars.

I find it funny/weird that Sony doesn’t use their official PlayStation font for their own ad...unless their artist doesn’t have it or own the rights to it.

I remember asking companies like Honda, Polaris and others for it and they’d send me vectors, pngs, swatches and other stuff....funny thing is sometimes it’d be vectors from third party sites, but I’d have written permission to use their stuff :p

I paid that much at Best Buy... for the 55" lol. Got it installed today. Pretty sweet but really need next gen consoles I think. Games look great on the 4k option but I'd much rather have higher framerate at this point. Need to check out some shows or movies in 4k though for sure.

I am thinking about upgrading my setup. I am mighty tempted by the LG CX 48 inch as my space is limited. between the doorway to my room and the bathroom doorway there is about 45 inches of space, if you include the door frame. No including the door frame, it is 42 inches which the CX would fit perfectly.

But then I am a cheap ass. I have a hard time convincging myself to spend $1,450.00 on a TV haha.

Really disappointed that TCL removed the 43inch Series 5 for their 2020 line up.

Can grab the 2019 Series 5 for $300.00 bucks at best buy.

But then I want to take full advantage of my Series X and that takes me back to the CX.

1st world problems haha.

If you go TCL...go 6 series(or higher)2020 but know that it does do 1440p/120 it doesn't do 4K/120 but I'm assuming it will upscale.
Don't go less if it's TCL and for gaming.

$1500 is to much for a 48 inch IMO.

Issues is 50 inch is too big. Won't fit in the space I have.

Hmm how small?

42 inches wide would be most ideal. Otherwise the tv will be covering the door frames and I don't people to bump into it as I am planning on hanging it.

From outer door frame edge to door frame edge is 45.5 inches. The inner portion of the wall between the 2 door frames is 42 inches.

The TCL 6 series does not have a 50 inch model. Their 5 series does have a 50 inch with a width of 43.9 inches. I may be able get away with that even though it will be on the door frames.

The LG Cx is like 42.2 inches or something like that, so it would fit neatly between the 2 door frames.

I may just go with the 2019 TCL Series 5 43 Inch to play it safe. Also have been looking at the Sony X800 and Samsung Q60
