Dreams - It’s Over

I’m a pretty crestive person, or at least I try to be. I saw that House Flipper game and thought this might be a cool way to recreate the living space in my home and what kind of designs I could come up with.

People are doing some really cool things, not a game for me though I don't have the patience for something like this.

So I got this game and jumped into the creation tutorials. But Holy crisp are the controls a handful. I’m just using the DS4. I wish I had kept my move controllers.

True, but some of it could be used as cool proof of concept

yeah also true but my point is, use that time to learn another program like UE4, Blender etc then make a proof of concept in that program.
i guess it’s great for some individuals who don’t own a PC/Mac and can make content on their PS4’s.

I'm tempted to pick this up for $30 but I know I would never put the time into it. Might be worth it just to surf around other people's creations though.

I haven’t touched the game since I got it. But there was this Captain Toad Treasure Tracker clone that was very cool.

Grabbed this off Amazon for $20 (physical copy, gross) just to check out other people's creations and it is really neat. I wish I had more time to get into the tools and actually build something. I seem to be struggling with the camera controls. My view just always flips straight up and I constantly have to counter it. Not sure if my controller is messed up or I am doing something wrong.

The premise of these games, such as LBP, Dreams, and that one that MS made and shutdown last year, is to build your own game. I feel like only the hardcore really would invest in that time. Most people don't want to make their own game. I pay developers to do that for me. It's why Forge in Halo never appealed to me. There is an appeal, no doubt, but it's not that big. Multiplatform would help, especially on PC. But it won't ever be mainstream IMO.

Especially with no core game within that game. LBP was successful because it had a full campaign.

The great thing about Dreams though is you can just play other people's creations. I've enjoyed the game without creating a thing.
