Read the comments of that video, the reason it didn't happen wasn't because of Nintendo it was because of Barbara Broccoli and MGM.

Nintendo threatened legal action if it appeared on any non Nintendo console and even told the then bond license holders they would be blocked from releasing titles on the Wii of they allowed it. MS even offered a Wii port

This is no longer the case, read the videos comments. Several IPs were developed on Nintendo consoles and came with Rare when they were brought to XBox, including all of the rare replay titles. It wasn't Nintendo.

Anyway, today I can say that I have officially played the remaster, and boy is it GOOD. I am going to play through the entire thing later today.

They seriously need to get this officially released now

From the devs themselves. 1 key figure at Nintendo blocked it (likely Iwata or Miyamoto)

As the project went on, Edmonds and Bury point to a moment—exactly when, they can't recall—when their bosses gave the GE360 team a green light. "We were told everyone had approved it," Edmonds says. The rights were all cleared, with no condition that anybody had to work on a version for a Nintendo console or any other requirements. That was all the team needed to hear to continue work on the Xbox 360 version.

Later, the eight devs on the project learned the truth about negotiations... when GE360 was unceremoniously canceled.

"When it was put to Nintendo, everyone there approved it," Bury says. "Except they didn't check with the one guy who mattered.

"I believe I was told his response went along the lines of, 'There is no way a Nintendo game is coming out on a Microsoft console,'" Bury adds. (If you're wondering how some of Rare's N64 games eventually wound up on Xbox consoles, remember: Rare took many of its older games' rights with it to Microsoft, but not all of them. 2005's Conker: Live and Reloaded was the first example.)

Whoever held up the release of this during the 360 era are dumbasses. Whoever is still holding up the release of this are even bigger dumbasses.

This would sell like hot cakes alone because of nostalgia.

I really would have loved the chance to play this game, but all license holders seem to be nightmares on compromise.

I guess they decided it's better to make zero dollars. Thankfully we, at the very least, have a full video of a working build in this rom.

Just release the damn thing

Hmmm...this would be great if they finally released it. I'd even by it for $10 if it wasn't on Gamepass ;) . I'm a bit dubious as even though the achievements showed up on TA/elsewhere (not sure where they get these from), they would have been reworked as a part of the Rare Replay release that was nixed per the video above. Again, don't know how they get those generally. Also, haven't heard of any rating submissions for this and that is a real good indication of pending release. Here's hoping 🤞.

Sounds like it's coming to Switch as well.

Grubb saying MS and Nintendo decided it was best to delay the game after Russia started attacking Ukraine due to all the Russian content.
