Since I am between houses at the moment (we decided to build a new house from ground up in a different state and put our current home up for rent, was going to stay in an apartment but girlfriends father was nice enough to let us stay here until our house is complete) this is my setup for a couple of months until I we can move in and get everything settled.

Acer Predator G9 that I've had for about 3 or 4 years, honestly couldn't have asked for a better laptop this thing has been great for what I paid for it.

i7 6700HQ
GTX 1060 6GB
16GB of RAM
2TB of SSD space
Sound Blaster X3 USB DAC
Sennheiser GSP 600 cans
Corsair M65 Elite mouse.

Looks like a beast! Are you ever going to buy another gaming laptop? I would get one but at this point I'm not really mobile enough to justify it.

There's a good chance I could be buying another one very soon. Girlfriend has been complaining about not having her PC so I may buy another laptop and give her this one.

Bought a New PC with these spec, €2.1K. See ya guys soon.........

Oh wait, I was stopped at credit card checkout. Apparently, after some internet digging & calling the hotline, they improve the security since Jan for anything above €250.
So I logged in to my account & activate the online security which sends a pin that I have to enter on-screen. After activating the Mobile security, I try checkout but still failure.

So I went to the online banking & there is another activate button, so I press, & what it did was lock the security!! To unlock, I have to consult a consultant which is impossible due to lockdown or call them. Held the phone for an hour until my ear was almost destroyed due to the shape music they play while you wait......There is suppose to be another photoID option, but you need to request & it can takes days.....from a letter!!!! a letter!!!!

What a shiitshow.......

Anyway, I apologise for the German words, but I think its not hard to make out most info. Let me know if its good or somethign I can change, while I get a solution to the credit card issue.

looks good to me, hope the credit card bs gets sorted for you without too much headache. that kind of crap can really ruin your days off from work. we've all been there and it's annoying as hell all this stuff you're just trying to do something very simple but something has to throw a wrench in there and make it a nightmare.

You'll get there and your new system will blow your mind.

I manage to get the credit card sorted.

Apparently, you need both a mobile pin and a credit card security password. I called the service hotline & got ot sorted. I checked out the PC & it will be delivered to my place within a week or so.

The big price item is the AMD 6800XT card which sold alone for 1200€. I prefer a 3080RTX as a satisfied Nvidia customer (970GTX currently), but the 3800 costs 300€ more & I seen the benchmark & the performance are similar.

Looking at different shops & shockingly, not only this one prebuilt for you & add a beefy 3 years warranty, but cost less than if you self build & got the parts separately.
Also, unlike other pre-build, you get to swap/add any parts & there is even a check to see if they are compatible & recommend a new component if not.
Also, unlike other prebuild, they do not pick the lowers denominators' parts & the exact name of the comment is clearly stated.

I started with a prebuilt that is on a 200€ discount

For reasons, the online shop Agando only operated in the 3 German-speaking countries.

Now I need a new table for my old (aka current) PC, & my work PC (home office). I am currently using a dining table, & its not comfy for long work (hard wooden chair) & its not nice to use as dining table.

I wish I could find a RTX 3080. Seems that the 3090 is easier to find but:
  1. Its too expensive for my needs
  2. I'd have to get another power supply and some of yall know the mess I had to go through to get my last one.
  3. It's over kill for me unless I start some rendering projects.

I hate the fact that the RTX 3080 isn't back on stock anywhere still (WTF Nvidia?), other than the morons who are selling them online for the price of a 3090. It pisses me off.

Upgraded my gaming laptop yesterday after selling my old one.

Picked up the Asus Rog Zephyrus G15

1440p, 165HZ and 100% color accurate screen.
AMD Ryzen 5900HS
Nvidia RTX 3070
1TB storage
16GB Ram (will most likely upgrade)
Wifi 6

This thing is small and quiet, love it.

My new rig just arrived.

AMD 6800XT & Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor and 32GB
2x 1T SSD, 2T SATA HDD.

There was some drama regarding the prebuild. The Ethernet card was placed in the wrong spot, & the error by the "Pro" was so ridiculous. He/she installed on the long PCI slot when it should be installed in the short one. The metal prints on the PCB should be a clear indication.

Took me overnight & a good night sleep & calmed down to find out the issue. I couldn't connect to the internet. & thought it was a software issue. But once I find out (by opening the case to check) , I reinstall the card in the correct spot. Could have installed the PC myself, but the deal was good.

The AMD 6800XCT is massive! The internal RGB was a bit subtle, & I wondered if I cheapen too much by not specing RBG Memory. I originally wanted water cooling too but budget already very high (2100€) mostly due to graphic cards these days being overpriced.

The case also feels like cheap plastic, well because it is. Again budget reason. I am thinking if I can DIY to look more premium.

Another thing is my 15 years old 19" Philips DVI monitor is no longer supported. I can of course get a converter cable, but I think I will wasting money since I wanted to move to 4K. I will get a 4K monitor (still deciding) & then I will show the full desk hopefully early next week. One monitor is awful.

Also, I will be getting a new controller. Tired of having to spend 20-30 mins & "tricks" to make my 360 receiver work every time the window updates. Also, the 360 controllers is showing its age & feels very wonky these days.

I ordered an ASUS VP28UQGL.

Yes, it's only 60hz & no HDR. but I want to save some cash & 4K monitor (unlike 4K TV) is still expensive. It does have free sync which works well with my AMD setup. With the extra few hundred saving, I can get a new controller & MS office. I have office 34565 on work laptop (I am working from home) & office 2010 on m,y old PC, so I do not need new a new MS office, But it is just a quality of life that I do not need to switch computer to use office.

Maybe in a few years, when the price drops, I get 144hz one with more bell & whistles, & shifted my current 1080p to my old PC which is sharing a monitor with my work laptop. By sharing, I mean unplug & plug the DP cable to either the work laptop or my old PC case.

That probably wasn't an error. You can install PCI-E 1x, 4x into a 16x physical slot and it work just fine. In fact my sound card is a x4 in a 16x physical slot.

Really? The bios did not detect the card. I have to change to the small slot to work. In any case, I did not launch a complaint, so at least I do not look stupid if that is the case.

The PC is working & that ks the key. My 4K monitor should hopefully arrive today base on the tracking order.

What a s***show. Can nothing come working?

The monitor arrived but missing the screw for the base to the mainframe holding the monitor. I spoke to the Amazon empolyee & he said he can refund me 30€ or get a one for one exchanage.

So I opt for one for one exchange. So now I will be dismounting the new monitor & put it back to the box.

Before someone call me fuzzy, the screw is not a normal one, & is flash to the base. YOur normal screw will pop out from the base bottom surface.

Edit: s***show part 2.

I found the screw. It's in the straoform bag. Funny I couldn't found it when I looked for it the first time. I tried to call the helpline to tell them to cancel the replacement, but the lines are closed. I hope to get in touch with them early tomorrow morning to tell them to stop the delivery of the replacement monitor.

s***show 3.0

Manage to talk to a helpdesk personal to cancel the delivery, & I took out the monitor & resetup the Monitor.

So I downloaded MS office professional 2019 from a trusted google site, at 19€ not wanting to play MS price which is almost 10x more expensive. 160+ Fking doesn't work.

Edit: Manage to fix the issue, by "online repairing" option under MS office icon (right click->change->repair->online) vis add/remove program system.
