Anyone else feel a little cringed out by the ball deodorant ads?
I mean they’re done in such a weird over the top manly way, all humor and s***.

Hey hrudey what is your major malfunction?

Took a little time off from just about everything, and then had our backup vacation to Denver this week get cancelled since all the flights got cancelled so that was fun. Mostly it's just I didn't feel like looking at my phone for too long when I had a headache for a couple of days and then once that starts it's almost a habit. Will be getting back to normalcy or whatever passes for it for me now, and getting my COVID vaccination tomorrow so I should be around more again. 🧐

I’m tired of the Discovery+ ads and pop up banners.

I don't see s*** for horns according to this picture. Clearly not a demon then. Also, LOL at The Sun. UK's version of the Enquirer

It’s a latent image of someone who was there checking on da baby. Happens all the time on my ring cameras.

While I thought it was a trippy story when I heard about it on the radio last night, then I looked at the pic and thought “where are the horns?”

I am not a particular fan of comics, but this is just sad. Manga destroying Comics in America.

I am fan of spider-man as I watched the Spider-man cartoon as a kid & like that I can relate to Spider-man.

I wonder if this builds of the online steaming presence Anime has from so many app services like Crunchyroll or Funimation or even the volume of Anime on Hulu and Netflix versus American.

It's interesting though because there is a huge cinema presence from Marvel/DC, but maybe Anime/Mange is getting the edge slowly from the shear amount produced and available and often the animation is just better.

Received news yesterday that a old friend from back in the high school days passed away in a car accident. Only 35. Leaves behind a wife and 2 kids.

2nd friend to pass that hung out in the same circle of groups of friends in the last 6 months.

Just more proof that death is always knocking at life’s door.

There's at least 30-40 people I went to school with that are now dead. The ones that i were close with, I haven't seen them in years since becoming a hermit. Suicides. Murders. Overdoses. Unexplained illnesses. We had the biggest class of kids ever and it remained that way for several years. I guess that's natures way of thinning us out.

2 day shift drivers quit. I normally do overnight, but I'm doing a quick sleep switch around to fill in one of the 12 hour day shifts. This is going to suck.

I'm hoping with the upcoming holiday this will be a slower work week. I'm also splitting the Saturday day shift with the other night driver so I'll work 12pm to 7pm.

I can only speak for myself, but as a former kid who loved Marvel comics and an adult who loves the movies now, I don't read comics only because everything is so confusing and expensive.

If you search a random super hero on Amazon you'll get countless hits. just search Captain America. Where do you start? You obviously want to follow a particular story arc and good luck sorting through all that.

I went looking for some of the comics I read as a kid, basically the old school GI Joe stuff and I either can't find them, or if I do they are multiple dollars for a digital version of a single comic (that back in the day cost pocket change). Even then there's multiple releases of the same thing, often in different sized bundles. Once they had a sale and I bought a bunch of comics digitally dirt cheap and I ended up with a mish mosh of stuff, some of which ended in the middle of stories, others that were complete.

I even have a Comoxology subscription through Amazon and it is still super confusing. It gives me a headache to even figure out where to start. Again too you run into paywalls, and paying a few bucks for a comic can add up in a hurry, considering you can read a comic in minutes.

I'm not sure if it is just me, but I doubt it. It seems this stuff has been re-booted and re-released so many times now that it is all over the place.

At one point I had stumbled upon some of the Vision comics that was sort of what the recent TV show was based on, but I don't know if I could even find that arc again.

I'm sure I would love it if someone could guide me through it, but the whole damn thing gave me a headache.

Maybe this is a major weakness Anime doesn't have? I think there are reboots or remakes, but not as much changes to the core story; they just do it to have more polished animation.

This makes me think of how Marvel lost me. I was a fan of the HULK comics way back and was really into Dale Keown's artwork and Peter David's writing. They worked it up to this crazy idea of Banner real core problem being Multiple Personality Disorder. They had this surreal session where they merged him into a whole person.

Anyway, after a while I think Age of Apocalypse happened and rebooted everything and this along with several other series was reversed. Maybe this is a major key flaw in American entertainment publishing like the joke of killing off Superman because you know he'll be back and people are getting sick of it.

It makes me think of Date in Star Trek: Nemesis. They threw him away and all his character development over the whole series and films to replace him with the B4 Android so everything can start over again.

Anime / Manga might do this, but I think most of the time characters die permanently and horribly. Maybe the side popularity of Attack on Titan contibutes to awareness of this idea.
