I still have a Pacman and a pinball coming. Pacman comes in on Tuesday!Very nice setup there!
Thinking about getting a new monitor. I currently have a AW3418DW. Was thinking about replacing it with a Samsung G9 or a 48 inch LG CX. I have no actual reason to upgrade other than I get the itch every 3 years or so.
I love the ultrawide format and I'm leaning toward the G9 but the CX is a monster in its own right.

I got the Viewsonic Elite XG270QG some months ago. It's an 1440p/165hz Native Gsync and Freesync compatible monitor. It was mad expensive. Nearly cost me $700. But damn it's worth the investment. Gsync technology is so amazing, I could never go back to using vsync again.I finally took the jump and made the purchase upgrade to 1440p/165hz world with the MSI Optix MAG274QRF monitor.
It's supposed to be one of the best, if not the best, IPS monitors in terms of contrast / colours / response time balance. It also supports FreeSync and G-sync which I have never used before. Can't wait to try it out when it should be arriving this weekend.

Technically for Gsync to work properly you still have to use V-sync. Cap your framerate about 5 fps below your monitors max refresh rate and enable V Sync. If you don't enable Vsync you will still get tearing, and if you dont institute a framerate cap you will get the vsync input latency penalty, Both of these are important for proper Gsync operation.

Correct. Watch the videos I posted above. Very good explanation and instructions.I always thought vsync would introduce more input lag, that's why I play my games without turning vsync on hmm. So you're saying if I cap my fps to 160fps instead of my monitor's max 165hz, there won't be any input lag if I turn vsync on along with gsync?

New stock is coming very soon, some sites reporting maybe within several days. MSI had put up the 3080Ti on their website the other day and immediately took it down. I am guessing Nvidia thought it was a bit too early. Anyway, this our chance at finally getting these cards lol. I am aiming for 3080 or 3080Ti, whichever I can get my hands on first. I won't go any lower than those cards.A few days with the CX and I can say it one of the best displays I've ever had. I WISH I had a 3000 series card to match it.
PC gaming appeal to the many people like me that do not like to settle for "out of the box" general box like console. When I was yonger, I was nuts about the JDM scene due to Fast & furious & s***. Bought myself a Mitsubishi Evo 9 & spent an unhealthy amount (US$20k ) to mod the car both under the hood & exterior. I had big S GT wing that blocked 1/4 of rear view & Shiit, & Big S Turbo that is barely legal which cost (US$3.6k).PC gaming really is the ultimate form IMHO. We have a Nintendo Switch and I WAS using it until I bought Animal Crossing for my fiancé' a few weeks ago. Haven't seen my my Switch since and when we were dating years back she said she didn't play video games all that much.....I feel like I was lied to. LOL.
Now I'm relegated to finishing BOTW in ultrawide/HDR and I'm not complaining.
I'm looking to get a pre-built this go around due to time and finding what I would like.
Thinking of going with this ->
VENGEANCE i7200 Gaming PC, i7-11700K, RTX 3080, 1TB M.2, 32GB DDR4-3200
Step up your game with a CORSAIR VENGEANCE i7200 Series Gaming PC, built with a full range of award-winning CORSAIR components, and powered by a 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processor and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30 Series graphics.www.corsair.com
Feel free to let me know your thoughts.

I was even going for the Nissan GT-R but eventually my passion for cars dropped & also I decided playing with cars is too expensive. But that passion for "Mods" lived on for PC.
Anyway, here is an interview (is old but still interesting) how Terry Crews fell in love with PC gaming
