Official Thread New PC Hardware Discussion. POST YOUR RIG/SETUP.

This looks good.

Just make sure you go with z590 or recent Ryzen to get that PCIE gen 4 support.

What kind of PC do you have now?

Right now, I have the following:
  • i5-4690K
  • ASRock H97M Pro4
  • 16 GB ram
  • GeForce GTX 970
  • PSU SEASONIC| X650 GOLD SS-650KM R
I can still get by for awhile longer, but cannot really upgrade anymore.

I was checking out the Z590 boards. Currently, Corsair isn't using them in their pre-builts. Might go with Origin PC.

I'll post what I think I will go with. Will looking for your input. ;)

The more I'm reading about Origin PC, the more I worried about investing more money than I care to. Then I looked at Falcon Northwest and my build jumped a grand!

I think I'll go with a similar build and do it myself, again. Just need to shop for a GPU first and sit on it before gathering the other parts.

That is solid. How much is the total?

Honestly this is what I would do if I were in your shoes. If you wait you might even score a 3080 ti.

That one was 3500. I did one similar in Falcon and that was around 4500! I don't mind spending for the service, but that was way too much. I was building it on PC Parts Picker at same time. Such a price difference.

Yeah, news about 3080 ti should be announced soon, so I'll keep watch on that.

Bought a New PC with these spec, €2.1K. See ya guys soon.........

Oh wait, I was stopped at credit card checkout. Apparently, after some internet digging & calling the hotline, they improve the security since Jan for anything above €250.
So I logged in to my account & activate the online security which sends a pin that I have to enter on-screen. After activating the Mobile security, I try checkout but still failure.

So I went to the online banking & there is another activate button, so I press, & what it did was lock the security!! To unlock, I have to consult a consultant which is impossible due to lockdown or call them. Held the phone for an hour until my ear was almost destroyed due to the shape music they play while you wait......There is suppose to be another photoID option, but you need to request & it can takes days.....from a letter!!!! a letter!!!!

What a shiitshow.......

Anyway, I apologise for the German words, but I think its not hard to make out most info. Let me know if its good or somethign I can change, while I get a solution to the credit card issue.

I wasn't trying to copy....honestly :)

I haven't had an AMD machine in years and was going to make my next Intel. However, as I read more and what I really need to use my PC for, the closer I got to your specs.

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X 3.7GHz Hexa-Core
  • Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK - ATX
  • Memory: 8GB Corsair DDR4-3000 Total 16 GB Dual Channel Memory
  • Graphics Card: AMD Radeon™ RX 6800 XT 16GB
  • Operating System Storage: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD
  • Cooling Solution: CLX Quench 120 Closed Liquid Cooler
  • Chassis Selection: HORUS NEO V2 Mid Tower Black
  • Chassis Fans: Standard 120mm Case Fans
  • Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G5 - 80 Plus Gold 75

First, 5600 seemed to be the sweet spot for processors and went to pair with what was recommended for motherboards. From there it was simple to do the rest.

I'm still on the fence, but playing around with this and will continue to read more reviews.

Well I did it and went with the following:
  • NZXT H510 (Black) case
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600x 6-Cores 3.7GHz
  • GIGABYTE RTX 3070 GAMING OC 8G
  • MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI
  • G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200MHz (2 X 8GB)
  • Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB
  • NZXT Kraken X63 Cooler
  • XPG Core Reactor 850W Gold PSU
For awhile I was pricing through CLX and then finally landed on NZXT. They had a limited amount of components to choose from, but I could see what was in stock and everything seem reasonably priced.

Overall, I'm pleased. I could have gone bigger, but I can't pay for those 3080 and 3090 GPUs. I could've even snagged a 3070 ti, but the price doesn't does not compare to the difference you get between the 3070 and 3070 ti.

I guess we'll see if I choose wisely in a few weeks.

Got a Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 3080 last night from Bestbuy. Went to check out some routers and unexpectedly ran into a friend from HS who transferred from another BB location and is now the manager. Of course I had to ask him about when the next restock of 3080/Ti is. He asked if I'd take a Gigabyte 3080 and went to the back to grab one. I was like "OMG, f*** YES! I'll take it now!". He said it was the last one and only available online. Rang me up at the counter and threw in a 25% discount. Bought the card for $857 after taxes. $1,049 online price. Life is f***ing good!

I'll give you $3000 for it. ;)

If it brings a smile to your face and puts you in awe in any way, you chose wisely.

World is bonkers every which way you look, nothing wrong with buying something to enjoy. Sounds like a beast of a machine to me congrats!

Good choice. Yah the 3070 Ti isn't all that great, for price/performance. With a little tinkering, you could probably get that 3070 overclocked to 3070 ti performance.

It finally came!

I also picked up ASUS - TUF Gaming VG259QMY 280Hz 24.5” Fast IPS LCD FHD 1ms G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor with DisplayHDR™ 400.

I tired Metro Exodus and runs like a dream.

That's the 3070? Looks exactly like my 3080 Gigabyte Gaming. If you have the Gigabyte Gaming series, just know they overclock very well.

It is a 3070 and it's the Gaming OC 8GB.
