Would shilling for Microsoft make me feel younger
Not sure about younger but I find not being a consistently miserable and negative bitch about a gaming hobby feels better than the alternative. If this brand continuously makes you feel this way, wouldn't it be best to avoid it rather than ask others to join you?

I love Halo

Maybe you should consider how you post and why it looks that way instead of being defensive and deflecting? You do talk about Microsoft like you are on Phil Spencers PR team.

Someone can say I am only overly negative towards Halo and they wouldn't trust me to ever be positive about it and I wouldn't be offended by it because its probably something I would think if someone else was making my posts. We should at least be a little honest with ourselves here.
Well, your post history clearly show your Sony bias though.

I was never gonna play the game in co-op. But I know that some want to. If you can't wait 90 days for campaign co-op feature:
  • Wait 90 days to get the game
  • Don't get the game
  • Get a life if 90 days is a game ending deal for you
It's been almost a year and a half and we still don't have the multiplayer for TLOU2 that was originally to be in the game. Apparently it could be ready in 2022?

I still enjoy TLOU2 without it. Halo is still releasing with the full campaign, full multiplayer and full maps. Sometimes I wonder if gamers think they can do a better job than Naughty Dog or 343.

Yes. With friends only. No matchmaking.

But you could do coop either via couch or online, yeah?

Then there we go. Why would they have to announce if coop is included or not if they have always included it? Just a weird way of thinking about it.

I agree with that.

Yeah and that is my point. I have to own my post history. I can't pretend it doesn't exist or that it is irrelevant.
Whats this point you're trying to make? You're in a Xbox forum. Why do you think it's your job to make sure people aren't being fanboys here? What's that even mean these days? Worry about yourself. Either offer something that pertains to the actual topic or find another one.

No point at all. All I said was I thought you were moving goal posts (oh no) and you got offended and derailed the thread.

I wonder if the issue with coop is checkpoints and the fact that it’s open world-ish?

But ditto, only my brothers were into coop, but only after going through the campaigning themselves on heroic, then beat it on legendary together out with friends
I imagine it's substantially more complicated than we realize...

To get back to the topic at hand:

As a Halo fanboy for over 20 years who's put 2500+ hours into the combo of Halo MCC and Halo 5 and about 15 hours into the tech preview, this Halo has its best foundation. If it didn't, I'd be screaming from the rooftops to delay. Best combo of movement and gun play. Best potential addition to the sandbox since the BR with the Grapple Shot. The bot AI is the best AI I've seen in a Halo. The foundation and sandbox for that 30 seconds of fun gameplay loop will be there in its widest and most vertical campaign environments. They have the absolute most important thing nailed with the gameplay.

The engine went through its most significant overhaul to allow content to be created faster for single and multiplayer, have a more complex level creator in Forge and more advanced AI. It's a platform. Not a game. There will be a lot more content that releases for Infinite after its official launch date over the years which is why the core gameplay is far and away the most important thing.

Infinite is running behind and development has been rocky. It very likely would've been delayed even if covid never happened. For point of reference, Halo 2 had a 1/3rd of its campaign cut. Halo CE had the entire campaign rebooted in the final year of development. After 5 years and only having to focus on a campaign, God of War 2018 was in bad shape according to Yoshida himself only 6 months prior to its scheduled launch. Welcome to the world of AAA development.

Most Xbox fans who've been furious about this are more concerned about narratives than the game. 15% of everyone who played Halo 5 beat a single level in co-op on Heroic. The numbers aren't significantly higher between normal and Heroic achievements. That's not 15% of people who value playing Halo in co-op first. That's a single level at any time ever. Stop worrying about "narratives" and play games instead. Let Microsoft's marketing team deal with the narratives. If you know Halo and played the tech preview, you know there's a lot to be excited about with the upcoming Halo platform.

I’ll be honest, I just want to play/finish the campaigning/story, by myself. I might hop on mp day one, but just to see and say I was there day one lol

hell I did the math I need like 536 more matches in mythic war zone firefight to attain 152….I don’t think I’ll make it on day one of its release

After over 2000 hours in Arena, I'm not even close to 152. 536 actually sounds doable. lol

Wait… so those of us that want a full package at launch and are displeased are supposed to just shut up and enjoy what they do give us. F*** that fan boy s***.
Do as you are told not as you want, ok? The internet is here to run your life. Believe me. xHamster runs mine.

Only 9% played 5 games of CTF
Only 9% found a skull
Only 22% beat the game on normal or harder
Only 21% played 3 games of Warzone
Only 33% customized their spartan

You can create any narrative you want by cherry picking achievements

And its only 7% who beat a co-op mission on Heroic

Good things they didn't get rid of all those modes. They'd start to add up. For now, it's just one thing.

Do what you want. Have your own perspective. I stated a perspective based on their more ambitious package. Offered some additional insight from a dev. Outside of talk about narratives and goalposts (like I give a s*** about the stupid plastic wars sport still being played here) nobody has refuted any points I've made.
