Better than Rift Apart? I remember you saying that was good but wasn't quite your cup of tea, too kiddy?
Better than Rift IMO yes. The story here isn't Rift level of story telling. But I am enjoying the gameplay much more. Graphics are not Rift level either. But for me the game play trumps all. And now I want a bunch of Rots!

This game shines in the adventure, story, exploration, etc. But I find the combat underwhelming and janky. Also, the difficulty jump for the first main boss is insane even on medium difficulty. I ended up dropping it to story difficulty after a couple tries. The combat mechanics just aren't good enough to bother with trying to find out the boss patterns just to have them auto track across the map.

I wonder if your experience is PC related and it’s different on PS5? The combat has made this an ace game for me. I have found it fluid, accurate and satisfying. The patterns work for me.
Though now that I have bombs and rot bombs, I have been using less patterns and just throwing bombs and shooting arrows at it. Rot for my quick health recovery if needed and repeat 🔁😎

I'm playing on PS5 though.

Have you had to fight the enemies that cover you with a purple haze that drops your health to almost zero instantly? I am there now and not sure what to do. I even put up my shield, but it goes right through it :(

I don't think so. Just beat the second main boss.

Also in the second act I'll call, the game's performance took a hit. A lot more hitching than the beginning of the game and honestly started giving me a headache. Also an issue was using the rot worm or whatever it's called lol. That movement is also really slow and if you have the camera positioned in a certain way the screen starts shaking as well. I'm still really enjoying the story and adventure the game has to offer, but game needs some fixes for sure.

The Rot worm is a pain in the ass to control. For me, I am getting a ton of, is it called tearing or clipping? My character is getting stuck inside objects at times, so I will hope that I die somehow to get out or I restart from the last save.

What modes you guys playing on ?

How long did it take you and what difficulty?
Was there anything in game for time? I don't remember exactly but maybe 20ish? I ended up tracking down all of the collectibles available. Difficulty I did the first act on medium then switched to easy/story after the first boss bs.

I just finished it last night, definitely worth the purchase price! They have some great creature designs in this game. I'd love to see them do a sequel that gets a little bigger and adds mounts (with mounted combat of course) and maybe let her learn a few more moves etc. This really is a great old school style game and it's very pretty, very pleasing to look at.

I bought on Epic and beat it a week or so ago. I enjoyed it, although, I think it could've ended earlier. I liked the fights and played on normal, but the end bosses I would bump the difficulty to Story. I don't think the controls responded as well and some of the boss fights were a bit too challenging to the point I wasn't enjoying them.

SPOILER:

Well, I THOUGHT I was almost done with the game. I am on the final boss. It's a three step process. Bring the boss down to 2/3 health, then it has you fight some others. Bring boss down to 1/3 health, then platform, then back to boss to finish the final 1/3. I keep dying on that last 1/3rd. The problem is, it takes you all the way back to the start of the final boss again. Even more interesting is, if you die between those thirds (platform/fight others), you pick up where you died.

I have done this 4 times now. I may not get that final trophy in Kena, it's stressing me out.

Yep. I think for boss fights, I always brought the difficulty down, because it borderlines on not being fun for me.
