God...not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I thought this game looked like @ss from the jump. I could not stand the "punk kid" persona here and never thought anything they had shown was compelling in any way. I say if Kamiya wants to work with MS and MS really want to work with him/Platinum, come to the table with a new IP that is far more impressive and don't show it until it's ready. This was close to as bad as that True Fantasy Live Online fiasco from the OG Xbox (or maybe as bad when you consider that both resulted in a cancelled game). TFLO, however seemed to be a complete scam by Level 5 and maybe here Platinum just got in over their heads. Either way, would be hard for MS to trust they could deliver unless they could promise a dedicated team (and maybe MS put one of their smaller teams as a support). Please, leave Scalebound on the scrapheap of cancelled games!
Man looking back on this time, it was probably the darkest era for Xbox (2013 - 2017) before the re-commitment and start of the acquisition parade. Terry Meyerson almost single handedly killed Xbox during that period (2015-2017) and Don Mattrick made a go of it himself in 2013-2014. Sooo glad Phil took the reigns and righted the ship along with Nadella.
