I got to TeamXBox just at the end, when it was all going to s*** just like astrograd's credibility (assuming I remembered the name correctly and that he ever had any, both of which I consider as likely to be wrong as right).

He was a legend... The ultimate spinner.
Haven't talked with him in a lonnnnnng time.

When people were leaving I made the decision to not go to any of the offshoots. The community was fragmented and I engaged in dialogue with people who was at one or the other. I thought that neither one would last that long, or people would migrate back to TXB when they saw it was fragmented, and when the time was right, I’d start the the second life of the TXB community. When the dust settled, and when I was completely spent with modding the bots, I asked for simple low level admin controls multiple times, and they went unanswered. So… Union was born.

I knew those that were still at TXB would come along. And those looking for a unified community would eventually migrate over. I wanted the community to feel free with little moderation and let people engage naturally. Didn’t want to permaban anyone unless it was absolutely necessary. Only like five or six during all this time for permabanned. I think we achieved the community I envisioned.

We reached it because of the people of the community. We reached it because of the mods over the years. We reached it because of all us.

This site was never about making money. Actually lose money every month/year because I purposely keep the community count low and do no advertising to promote it, and I keep the Google ads at as minimum as I could so I’m not footing the entire billing.

I’ve had probably 20-25 inquiries from people who wanted to buy it. One person offered $35,000. Most were in the $10k to $20k range. Said no to all of them outright. No intention to sell. If I ever was done with the site I’d simply hand the keys over to someone here.

There may be a time I try to get more members, but I don’t envision it really. The option is there, but that means headaches, and nah...

To sum up, as I said earlier, this community is simply for us.

I remember some crazy s*** from that guy, one that really stands out was his idea that MS would make it so if other people near you had an xbox that was in what is now called "rest mode" that some of the computing for your game would be done on that machine and then sent back to your console basically making it more powerful lol. He argued that to death lol

I remember that. He used that argument too when it came to Xbox vs PC. He was such a troll.
