I love the revisionist history on BF V. Never mind that the TTK was broken for like 6 months and the entire community abandoned the game. You couldn't even find games on Xbox months after release. The game was great when Pacific dropped for like 2 weeks, then they made the guns into nerf guns and killed the game. Literally.

Specialists are fine. This idea that people always played the objective until specialists is hilarious. I've been an engineer and a medic hybrid and been more useful to my team than any past game. People have been playing selfish since BF1942.

Before specialists, you had tons of people picking their class for the gun only. In BF V you would be right next to 3 medics bleeding out and they'd never even look.

I agree with all this except specialists being fine.

BFV was a s*** show. It was decent the first few months and then they destroyed it then reverted back to launch. Then it was piss poor content wise. Then the pacific launched and everybody loved it. A few weeks later they killed their game.

Those 2-3 weeks of The Pacific were fantastic. It was what the game should've been from launch.

My current loadout has me as the guy who can revive and hand out ammo, then I grab an engineer tool, either repair, rockets or AA as the situation dictates. I can do more to help my team then I ever could in a past game. Half the team can go off and snipe while the rest of us win the round.

I can fill 3 roles easily without being overpowered. You can force people into "classes" all you want, some people always played selfish no matter what. At least now they are more effective at it. Been going on since 1942 beta.

I'm loving it, because I don't have to rely on XxX_3lit3_Snipar_420_69_XxX doing his job for me to have fun.

Pretty sure I just played with him. He was useless.

I only payed 10 minutes. Guns feel better though. Still can't kill s*** in a chopper because splash damage was nerfed further on an already underpowered aircraft. I don't recall anyone complaining about aircrafts being over powered aside from the hovercraft.

Yea I'm starting to dig the specialists (except their annoying quips) being able to resupply ammo, revive and have a rocket launcher in the same kit is pretty neat.

I get destroyed pretty quickly and regularly by helis but I hardly get any with them, maybe they should scale the nerfs with how good you are haha.

Played one or two rounds early this morning to try out the patch. Both played extremely smoothy, no crashes, no spawn bugs. Tried 3 or 4 different guns, all felt good. Net code seemed improved, had a great time.

Yeah I have very few issues on Xbox. Seems like a completely different game on PC. A few people have suggested a memory leak on PC or something.

The performance is weird on PC. I get like 70-95 fps on Ultra and 4K, while my 3080 is at 85-95 utilization. My CPU has 1 core at 100 percent utilization while the other 15 are somewhat all over the place. It's smooth as butter on my end though. But performance could be better.

Crossplay is still an issue. I been looking at player list in game and 80 to 90% of the players in every game are PC players.

I turned crossplay off

Performance-wise, there's the sense that frame-rate isn't quite where it should be, particularly in the new 128-player modes. In terms of resolution, both PlayStation 5 and Series X target 4K at 60 frames per second, dropping to 1800p in busy scenes (a wider DRS window can't be ruled out, of course, but that's where the counts took us). By and large though, drops from the target resolution are relatively rare - they both turn in a sharp and stable image that looks great on a 4K display. Series S? It seems to vary between 1080p and 1296p based on my tests, with the junior Xbox presenting a blurrier image and some reductions to effects like foliage density.

Performance tends to vary according to player count. The modes with 64 players and below, such as hazard and portal modes, seem to run great on all current-gen platforms. On Series X, S, and PS5 the readout is 60fps on each console with only occasional single frame dips, essentially undetectable in the run of play. These modes feel great to play, though the scope is much smaller than the 128-player mayhem of the main game - and it's here where we have problems, with all consoles dropping performance in intense battles, particularly with many players present or when flying aircraft. On PS5 and Series S these problems aren't too bad - there's generally a pretty solid 60fps with occasional dips. It's not ideal, but it's very playable and these problems are not a major impediment to the experience. At its lowest, we see readouts in the low to mid 50s during more intense gameplay. There's some occasional stutter on all consoles, though it seems worst on Series X: 50ms pauses occur regularly, although these can last for hundreds of milliseconds at worst.

Yup. The article points out XSX has the most drop and stutters in performance but narrator doesn't really say this.

Having said that, seems like a bug and DICE should look into it as the XSS doesn't have this 0 fps issue?

Weird that I've noticed no stutters or drops on my XSX, if anything it's the best performing Battlefield game I've ever played at launch regarding FPS.
Funny because I constantly said throughout this thread(before the so called analysts numbers)
That I wasn't having any of the issues that people were complaining about with BF2042... the PS5 version has been great and yes I played the XSX version.

Maybe because you guys are playing with crossplay disabled and are playing against a lot of bots? The game is more demanding against real people.

I never played with bots on any version and will never play with crossplay if It has PC.
