Finished the campaign on Standard difficultly and it was a decent challenge. The last few missions in the Hive are so much fun. You also unlock a new class when the campaign is complete which is nice.

I picked this up last Saturday afternoon and its a lot of fun. It looks and plays great and matchmaking works surprisingly well, I've done most of my first playthrough of the campaign with others online which makes things more fun. I like how this game switches things up because during the first few missions you'd think you don't need to use cover when fighting the Aliens and then the game introduces a new enemy type in these synthetic androids and the game turns into a more traditional cover shooter and mixes and matches going forward to keep things interesting.
I've only played using one class, the Demolisher. It gets access to that heavy machine gun seen in the movies and its my favorite weapon so far. I still need to check out the other classes but not until I get more unlocks with the class I started with. This game reminds me of Fallen Order, a good action Souls type game made better by it use and presentation of its theme. For that game it was Star Wars and for this game its theme is in the title and they make really good use of the license.

I've only played solo so far, but the last mission of the second chapter I got absolutely steamrolled at the end lol. I was using the tech which is nice for the turret, but being limited to handgun and SMG is hard when the AI doesn't know what's going on half the time.
On PS5.
I'm one mission away from my first completion of the campaign, its a lot of fun. After I finish the story I'll go on to try out another class. The Sony headphones makes hearing the authentic sounds of this franchise so much better. Listening to the unique sound of the the M41A Pulse Rifle never gets old.

I'm on PS5 and don't play it a ton, but still seem to find people still. For me the issue comes down to trying to find people in the last act missions. I'm not sure how that works with quick play which opens up after you beat the story. I would hope quick play looks for open servers first before creating one, so at least those trying for a specific chapter have priority.
Supposedly. I don't know about Series X, but it's my understanding that the PS5 version is really just a better running PS4 version right now and they were to add full PS5 features at some point.
Could it have been better as a f2p, maybe it’ll get a resurgence if it were to go on GamePass?
I'd play if it was on Game Pass.

Not sure there is enough in the game to warrant F2P. GamePass would surely help especially for those not sold on it. Not sure how a game like Back4Blood can sell considering how bad the devs ran Evolve. I've seen complaints of Aliens being a L4D clone... what do you think Back4Blood is lol?
Hopefully it brings people back. Trying to finish up the final act and matchmaking didn't find anyone. Since I don't have access to quickplay until after beating the story I randomly tried a mission and a couple people joined, then left. Tried another and one of those joined and then left as well.
