The MS solution has been on sale for $168. And the price has already dropped and will continue to.
Huh? I legit just got a MS expansion card for Christmas, it was MSRP. 219.99. I did not see it any cheaper anywhere.

I understand it being on sale occasionally but you said the price already dropped. The MSRP never dropped. Regular every day pricing is still 219.99 for 1TB.
Sorry I didn’t mean MSRP. Just the price on sales.

Never saw this and if it happened it was a one time deal.
I am a dad who looks for deals and that thing hasn't had any decent discounts.
You probably missed it. It was on sale again for like $180 something as well. Keep your eye on twitter, Wario64 posts them if you follow there.

Not the same. The Retail MSRP pricing for the PS5 options will be much more competitive and fierce since there are so many companies trying to fight for your business. Add to that, new SSDs coming out that will be faster and faster will push prices down even further. There's no competition for the proprietary options as far as I know. Is it still only Seagate making the proprietary options or did more get added now? I thought they were supposed to come out last year already?

I doubt that I missed it and if I did...it was one time but I still doubt this.
Also $180 isn't $169.
Take your wars to the proper thread, thanks!

What incentive do other SSD makers even have to make an SSD that only works with one product? IF/when MS's deal with seagate ends how many other companies are going to want to spend money making SSD's that only work for xbox? How many would want to spend that much money to compete for a small pool of potential customers? I don't see any incentive really. The PS5 happens to use parts that were already being made regardless of Sony using them or not, there is a reason to compete in the PC space for SSD's but for xbox users only? I don't see it. It would be the same for Sony if they had gone proprietary. Last gen it was cheap, just throw an xbox or PlayStation shell on an existing external SSD, it cost pennies, but this is totally different.

I believe this is the real reason only Seagate makes drives.

As XSX sales increase maybe some others will jump on board.

You did miss the sales apparently. No need for you to be upset, they will be on sale again. Just follow Wario64 on twitter so you don’t miss out.

Yup you brought wars into it. Please stop and go to the proper board. Thanks!

The 2 TB card for the Series X is the only legit solution for me and it costs $399. The implementation and functionality is great, but the price is outlandish.

The fastest a PCIE gen 4x4 drive can go is 7400 MB/s, as that is saturating the lanes already. So we're really not going to see any faster drives.

If any of you are fans of Radiohead's music, I highly recommend checking out the Kid A Mnesia Exhibition "game" / experience. It's free from the PS Store. It looks fantastic in HDR and the audio quality is great as well.

I still go physical for story based games, but anything I'd be playing at random over a long period of time like racing or sports I'll go digital.

This is the full game (story + online) and you don't need to be PS+ to get the deal (you do need PS+ to play GTA Online though).

The game is still somewhat hidden on the store and won't show up in a search, to find it simply scroll all the way to the end of the pre-order row and pick "show all", you will find it listed there.

You need to go the ps store on the PS5 and go down to the pre-order row, scroll all the way to the right and at the end you'll see a "View All" tile, select that and a full list of titles will appear and scroll down until you see GTA V.

Preload is 87GB.

"The new PS5system update has been released, but it has been launched alongside a fatal error — the console’s PlayStation Network online multiplayer component is now no longer working, with PSN offline for both PS5 and PS4 owners.

The update was pushed live by Sony in the early hours of this morning, though players were quick to discover that PSN is no longer working. This means that multiplayer games have been rendered unplayable in the meantime, with many displaying the error message: “Connection to PlayStation Network failed.”
