The Book Of Boba Fett - A Mandalorian Star Wars Story - Premiered December 29, 2021

Honestly thought first episode was bad and the action was below average. (Free running scene in star wars please!!)
the fight in the town where they were ambushed by the red assassins was terrible, choreography and how it was shot and edited was really bad!

yeah. Kind of agree. It was too short and really didn’t deliver the same kind of impact that the Mandalorian did when it started. Still it has potential to improve.
But this is what I don’t get! The first episode should explode and make us want more, not ‘meh it was ok’! Hopefully will get better!

100%. I am as actually a bit shocked to see Robert Rorgregiz directed it. Definitely would have expected something more impactful from him.

I think he’s directing all of them… he’s known for his over the top action, but maybe he’s trying to keep a sense of mystery m, at first?

It just didn’t feel like anything he’s done before. If I hadn’t seen his name I’d have never thought it was him. It was like he didn’t understand the characters or the settings or what direction he wanted to take them.

I’ll be the delusional optimist…what if he does understand, he’s got a direction because the story is done (completed by John favreau) and we’re just way to hungry more larger set pieces to wow us but we have to wait, cos it’s not Netflix, for seven episodes?

Yeah I thought coming from RR it would have been more stylised, slow mo, cool shots etc but nothing. But as I work in the industry, I know he might have had show runners/producers breathing down his neck and telling him what to shoot. Most of these people can’t direct, if you turned around to them and said ‘ok I’ll step back, you direct this scene!’ They would s**t themselves, but they are always chipping in, saying ‘why not do it like this? Or like that?’ Etc etc.

When I worked on the OG Justice League, even Zack Synder couldn’t do his own thing. Hence him leaving.
Like I said in previous posts, too many cooks spoil the broth.…….

That makes sense for something like this, though. Otherwise these shows would be all over the place.

For ZS and JL yeah, stupid. Don't see the point in hiring a big name director and not letting them do a movie their way

yeah you’ve mentioned all those back room behind the scenes antics before. I can only imagine how frustrating that can be, especially for someone as distinctive as RR.
Well, the next episode is around the cornor so hopefully we see a more solid outing this time.

that’s exactly what I’m hoping for. I’m always a the glass is half full rather than half empty type of person.
