Official Thread Fable IV

I hope it doesn't look like FH5, Fable should have a bit of a stylized look not a totally realistic look. I do want the dog to come back, as well as choices for breeds.

I read that as anal plugs.

I am very much hoping this game nails the landing. I've been itching for an open-world action RPG with a medieval setting for some time and Elden Ring is just not my jam. I hope they make ranged / bow & arrow combat a little more interesting than previous iterations though, hopefully a little more player controlled and not the lock-on style they had. I'm excited to see what Playground does with it.

All I want is the NPC interaction and humor to remain intact. I don't want Fable Souls personally, although a more balanced difficulty would be nice.

And if I can't lure a shop owner away from his stall to a nook behind the pub, get him sloppy drunk by giving him a bunch of beer and then run back to his stall and steal everything, why even bother calling this a Fable game?

Wait, you could actually do that?

At least in Fable 1 you could. In Bowerstone I'd load up on beers, go to the weapon vendor who had an outdoor shop, ask him to follow me (which he did because I was a 'high honor' character *wink wink*) up the street behind a building, give him like 10 beers until he was drunk and just stumbling around in circles and then run back to his shop, steal all his weapons and then sell them back at the starting town because they paid better for the weapons there, haha.

Fable souls sounds awful IMO, it doesn't need to be harder they just need to make the melee combat more fun, get rid of the guns (as is rumored) and give us a more modern take on the bow and arrow/cross bow controls & I hope they leave the magic the way it was in Fable 3, that was done really well.

I've said before I hope they open the world up and make it truly open world instead of roads that lead to hubs, would also like to see mounts added along with mounted combat. Maybe they can make the dog some kind of familiar that can transform to different types of mounts as you learn new spells, a griffin or dragon for flying, dire wolf or something to ride on the ground and if they somehow allow you to explore under water adding a stylized dolphin or shark would be cool. He could just be a dog when in villages or cities but out in the wild he can take other forms. That last part is just something I think would be cool but if it's not there it's no big deal, I just hope the dog makes it back :)

I don't think they need to get rid of guns, just make it longer to reload, and make a percentage of your enemies immune to bullets.
