The Last Of Us Part 1- Remastered Remake

Sure looks a lot like the PS4 remaster at a higher res with better effects to me, but it's been a while since I played it.

I notice that they added "Part 1" to it so they can already make a remaster and charge for part 2 this gen too. Sony won't be happy until they've pounded each PS5 owner's kiester.
Really? look again lol the faces, eyes, hair and skin are night and day difference, some people keep looking at the shirts and acting as if they are just some low res texture. The lighting has changed, the materials are different and there is blur added in areas. It looks a lot better than the remaster if you look at the comparison shots that have been provided.

They should do some form of upgrade path for those who bought this already.

But it looks like they are going the way of Demon's souls and that was full price too.
Why? this isn't a patch this is a full remake it would be silly to have an upgrade path. It includes the DLC so I think that makes up a little for the MP missing when it comes to the price.

Just as a special thank you for the fans who bought it twice already 🤣

But if it's a full on remake like Demon's souls then I can see why they want it at full price. Need to se how much more exploration there is but this is like literally the best game I've played back in the PS3/360 era so I have a soft spot and may just purchase it on day 1.

Anyone saying it's a remaster either doesn't know what a remaster is, or they do know and are just being an obnoxious idiot. It's a remake, a remaster is what the PS4 release was. Everything here has been remade visually, a remaster would just be a higher res version of the original with the assets being "cleaned up" this is a case where all of the visual assets have been completely remade which is why this is a remake, it's not that hard.

I never played the series, but my buddy was super into TLOU's multiplayer. Seems like that crowd is being left out to dry.
Not really, they are making a MP game set in that universe for next year. At least the single player DLC is being included with the remake so that kind of makes up for it.

They have kinda half assed their consistently with factions.

Even Demon Souls I would consider a remaster as well. FF7 Remake is what I consider a remake.

You saying it looks that way or did you mean it sounds that way from what they are telling us?

Looks that way from what they are telling us if it's true they rebuilt the game from the ground up for PS5 like Demon's Souls making it a true remake.

Man, the jump is actually bigger than I thought. The original was already really good looking for its age, ND managed to top that by a significant margin. Interesting that before it was all prerendered, for the remake it's all in real time 🔥

Looks better, but I don't really see the need for it. RE2 Remake was so vastly different that it felt like a new game, specifically considering how old the original was. With TLOU being relatively new this just doesn't feel worthy of $70 to me.

It looks a little better, but in many places it is near identical. The RE4 is a true remake. FFVI R is a true remake. This is not a remake to that extent. It seems like it should be at least a free upgrade for PS4 Remaster owners.

Agree, and part of that goes back to TLOU still holding up well visually. There is a rumor of a Gears collection coming out, but again, I don't see the need for that either. The visuals for the originals, especially Gears 3 and the Gears 1 Remaster, hold up well enough so that it isn't needed.

Not a chance I will buy the Gears collection. I own all the Gears games. MS has also done well with the free enhancements they get when played on the Series X/S. Not to mention, I wouldn't play them anymore anyway. They are now one and one games for me (like most PS games). I don't play the multiplayer anymore.

It looks worse in most of the comparisons.
I'm sure they will improve it.

It looks more realistic in my eyes but that's a debate for whether that means better or worse than original. It looks better to me especially now that we know it's rendered in game.

I'm glad they are making it but people don't have to buy it so I don't get the bitching, I'm not talking about you, you aren't whining like some people are. If someone doesn't want it they don't have to pick it up they can just keep the remastered version and be done with it. ND already has a team working on a big MP project as well as the game Druckman is making, this was likely done so they could get a PC release and to keep a lot of their employees busy while the other game is in pre-production. Imagine them doing this for PC and not putting it out on PS5 how many PlayStation owners would be complaining.

I had a hard time understanding which one was the new "remake" when looking at the video comparison, in pictures I guess it looks clearer, but lol ND soon up there with skyrim on this one lol

Did you watch it in 4k quality on a screen larger than mobile phone? It's much more apparent there.

It speaks volumes as we are talking about realtime 60 fps vs pre rendered 30 fps visual quality.
