Nah.

It has RT reflections at least in game play.

Replays have RT global illumination as well. This is from Esaki too via Forza Monthly.
But the internet will say the opposite no matter what he say. At least the tribalist fanboys.

So the replays aren't the same as gameplay after all.

Essentially, the 5 minute demo was game play. The 1 minute trailer was replays.

I'm cool with that, the 5 minute demo looked fantastic visually.
It's too bad they labeled that 1 min trailer as "in game" there was no need for that, the actual gameplay looks very good on its own.

Technically it is in game, it just isn't gameplay, but yeah, companies need to do better at labelling this stuff.

It's shady on their part, in game is taken as gameplay and they know that. They've had a ton of time to make this game, they f'd up on saying they were showing xbox series footage when it was PC and now this, no way that was all accidental, it's not like they were in a rush. I don't know if it's turn 10 or Xbox marketing that handles that stuff but they need to cut that out.

This has been going on forever with Sony, MS and many others. Everyone knew that the debut trailer wasn’t someone driving the cars. Gran Turismo 7 did the same with their debut trailer.

Jerry hasn’t posted in this thread since the thread started in 2019. Now he has 5 posts in the past 3 days s***ting on Turn 10/Xbox/Microsoft.

I don't recall but during the show, I believe the dev said this was an in-engine custom trailer or something of that sort so I took it as not gameplay but I was thinking people are going to think this is in-gameplay because of the vague clarification. But yeah, the fact the footage shown was PC should have been more clear for sure.

It is gameplay.

Here we are in 2022, and people are acting surprised that obvious replay footage pushes lighting features not possible in gameplay?

Of course they are going to push things further on replays. They literally ALWAYS do, every single company. Did anyone actually think we were going to get global illumination + ray tracing on a 60fps console game, this gen?

So crazy, that every time games push never before possible graphics, the community would rather talk about what it can't do, than what it can.

... and of course PC is going to have additional features. I remember when PC got 60fps on FH4 and some people would rather talk about 30fps on the Xbox One base console, instead of "HOLY SH!T!, this open world racing game, with this much detail actually runs on a base Xbox One at a solid 30fps?"

Like FH4&5, the cool thing about how these games are built, is they are essentially future-proof. If they let PC gamers use RT+GI in-game, then that feature will simply be added for the next console ver. I love how they have made the Xbox software ecosystem progressive to the hardware.

Also, this game looks amazing!

For FM, yes. It is a first. Replays and gameplay have always looked the same.

I think they will. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a 1440P non RT 120hz mode.
It’s kinda a given on pc.

Wait, what about FOV, are people changing that in racing games?

Could we see VR on pc?

Yo, what about multi link consoles and monitors/TVs? Was that still a thing for Forza 7 or in horizon? I think the last one I tried it on was with FM6?

Don't really need FOV slider in a racer, just need the FOV to be good per camera selection.

Xbox has shown very little interest in VR. Have they had it in other games on PC?

No idea on multi-link, but that is expensive and would only serve a very minute amount of players.

I think I saw/read about a mod for previous horizons, but I’m too lazy to search. Doubt it’s be possible, if previous GT games could only do 2 players, but I don’t even know if the second player was a NPC or not, again I’m too lazy to search :p

Well F1 and Assetto corsa had VR on PC so that shows it is possible. I just don't think Xbox will officially support it in their PC games.

I would take a slider OR a wide step in the camera selection. I game on a big screen, and wide PIV translates better.

Besides the studios that they have acquired that have already done VR (Bethesda, Ninja Theory, InXile, and Double Fine) their biggest VR game on PC, by far, is Flight Simulator.

I feel like the only reason they like to add multi-link monitors anymore, is for trade shows . I'll bet that there are some sim setup enthusiasts that still want this, though.

The replay visuals are the same as gameplay, always has been. This isn't Gran Turismo.
Accctuuually... i believe they said the replays do have Higher RT settings in the new forza. Apparently it adds RT GI and more acurate/higher quality reflections.

Edit: oops I see you addressed that further down 🤪

Remember when Sony mentioned ray tracing in GT7 to make it seem like it could be in game, rumors swirled for months it might based off a vague comment in a State of Play video, but then ultimately it didn't? MS clarified all of this within a few days.
