Diablo Grande, California.
We had an old thread pre new gen and now that we are a couple of years in to the current gen I am interested to see what people have done with their setups.

I will post mine soon, since the last thread I have moved in to another house so it's a totally different setting.

Just some kind of glass desk my gf got me about a year ago. She hated my particle board one I had before that . Heh Never paid much attention to it . Lol. But Don't get one . Way too much Wendex !!!!

- Living room
- 60" Panny plasma
- Panny BR home theatre with surround sound speakers
- Xbox One, cable feed goes into HDMI In
- Xbox 360

Down the line, will probably get Scorpio. If so, then get matching 4k tv. Since Scorpio is supposed to be BC, I'll get rid of my X1, and might as well also get rid of my 360.

Panny plasma for life, son.

Still better than most of the TVs available today.

Oh plasma, such a shame you went away.

I can't believe you guys game hunched over on these little computer desktop monitors.

I'll get a pic, but for me console gaming is all about tilting back the leather recliner with my 60" Panny Plasma in my darkened mancave.

But for us competitive gamers there's no other choice but a gaming monitor ;). If I'm playing a single player game I will move it sometimes to my 65 inch TV but for a competitive shooter, no way . The response rate and Input lag and ghosting is way too slow and noticeable on a a TV to be able to compete. When you get use to a 1 millisecond refresh/ response time there is no going back .Plus I don't like to have my eyes wonder all over the screen. And for 4K , pixel density really makes it look good when it's right in front of you at a desk :)

But what's best for me certainly doesn't mean that's it's best for anybody else . But if you're ever underperforming in a first person shooter game I would suggest you try it . you will be surprised what a difference a gaming monitor makes .

No kidding. It certainly looks to work well for you, considering your scores in shooters! Most of us don't game on that level, but makes sense for you.

Thanks for the info entreri804. I had no idea it made a difference and may partly explain why I gave up playing online FPS long ago...I was playing crippled! Makes sense now why you do that for competition. Maybe we should start an online armchair league here.

HUGE difference . Let me put it to you this way. I take the family to Myrtle Beach for vacation every July and the house we rented this year had a nice LG 60 inch TV and I brought my Xbox with me for Netflix and other things .

My friend back at home in Virginia told me to hook up with him late at night if I'm not busy . so One night I did and we fired up Battlefield 4 and it was all I could do just to finish positive. Not to mention I had to keep taking my eyes off the centerpoint of the screen to look around to see where I was getting shot from because of the huge screen real estate. I was like f this dude I can't do this on a tv .

The only reason I finished positive is because of how well I know the maps and the hot routes and where to anticipate people. Even when I cranked my controller sensitivity to 100 it still was too slow it was like I was moving through mud. That through my shot way off as well . Lol. If we were playing a normal public pubs it probably would not of been too bad but we were playing against other competitive clans that we always match against.

To be fair, resorts never have top level tvs. I wouldn't be suprised if that tv didn't have a lag of over a hundred ms.

Agreed. For those who play competitive FPS, gaming monitors are the way to go. I have a 27" BenQ XL2720Z myself and it's amazing.

Thought I'd share mine:

The main living room boasts a Vizeo P70, PS4 and a Xbox One in the second picture you will find a 7.1 system with the speakers hooked up to the ceiling effectively as you can tell I hate wires.

2016 P65 for the second living area downstairs, I have only recently finished this room will be adding either an Xbox One S and for sure a PS pro with VR capability tonight the room is mainly used for movies.

Bedroom I have an Xbox One in every room to be honest, I have a couple more in each of the kids rooms but no pictures needed for those. I use the One as a media centre that runs from my walk in wardrobe around the house wired.

I've seen those mounts for the Series X, but it probably wouldn't work for me with multiple external hard drives connected.
