The weird thing is they nailed the gameplay. MP feels better than it has in a long time. And SP was great.

It is puzzling because they don't really need to fix the game, just give us... content.

I don't think it is management. It isn't like the vision isn't here. They've reportedly been losing developers left and right. I think they just lack coders to bang out content. The bones for a good game are here. It already is a good game. it isn't like people are asking for major rethinking of the game, we just want more.
It needs content, player progression system, better BP levelling system, better BP content.

I don't do Halo online, I've been happy with the 4 player split screen mp like I've always been with this series.... but, the lack of coop campaign at launch was a huge deal for me and I honestly didn't expect it to get split screen campaign, but the wait for the online coop is absurd at this point.
I get a feeling that the huge online f***up with MCC is part of why they take so long with the online coop, they're scared of the backlash if it doesn't start off smooth... but looking at how people talk about 343 at this point, I'm not sure if they could fall any further lol

They clearly have talent, but their management has been a hot mess. I think they are just now starting to right the ship, but they are turning a barge, and that takes time that they frankly don't have.

10 year plan to turn the barge maybe?

I would love to say that two years from launch all the pieces will be in place and true seasonality has been achieved, but that seems optimistic.

I would agree that the core gameplay available in Infinite is solid. The issue is more about the quality and pacing of content. I just don’t know that the right people are in charge of this stuff. It seems that it is the Content Director(s) and Producer(s) that need to be held accountable at this point.

I gave up on Infinite shortly after I finished the campaign.
343 definitely needs a management shake up from top to bottom. They obviously despite being built specifically for Halo cannot handle the IP. Phil doesn't have the stomach for it it seems but arm chair quarterbacking, I'd reassign 343 to a new IP or something non halo related and let my other studios have a crack at it like iD software or Machine Games. If the Activision acquisition goes through, I'd give Sledgehammer, Treyarch or Infinity Ward a go too.
The combo of The Coalition and High Moon Studios is my choice.
HMS made the incredible Transformers games and Taken King and Forsaken DLC for Destiny/2.

These two teams are the sleeper teams in Xbox's arsenal IMO.

Wait, high moon is ms now? The transformer games can’t be bought anymore?

It’s crazy MS has just sat back and let these fools s*** the bed with this game in development and post launch. They really should give Halo to someone else.

What drugs did you take before typing this? The COD devs are too busy destroying their own games. Why in the world would you give them a try on this.

Either way I see some change coming. Maybe the COD setup of two teams is the way to go forward.

The way MSFT has handled the supervision of 343i is concering with all the other dev houses that will be under their management. If they can't get one studio to focus and deliver how are they going to do it for all the others under their umbrella?

Pretty sure whatever is going on at 343i is a 343i thing. Playground, Tutn 10, Rare, Undead, Coalition, etc. doing fine.

Well, the game is already out and they will only update as much as they can with the 5 years or 10. I know the next Halo game will change after this because Jason will ensure he gets Halo back on track.

Halo is still fun, they just need to dump 3 maps for every DLC at most negligible.

*looks over at playground* fable/fh6 is/are doomed…

Well, there’s two coming in November….and forge, hopefully

I know not everyone will get to play said maps if they play only certain game modes. That happened with me with halo 5 😆

Not really correct.

Undead, Rare, Plauground's Fable studio aren't exactly running smoothly.

Totally, and a support studio. Hell they should’ve let more smaller studios like certain affinity (which they’ve worked with since halo 2, because ex-Bungie devs) from the start. Hell there’s been so many ex-Bungie devs start new studios (that’s no moon, probably monsters, firewalk, etc) it makes ya wonder why? Even former Bungie devs jumping ship for 343. Hell most of 343 are devs who decided to continue the halo journey, but some have left/retired.

I do think it’s more management that they completely had too much to chew. They had these grand ideas but so little of a work force, with probably poor planning or oversight of contract work that they had to reach out to other internal devs, which probably pushed their own work back. But it probably helped them learn what not to do. And then for frick sake they hired support studios (ie spare soft, mostly Russian contract) like in the last year of development.

Yes, the pandemic probably blindly threw all their wrenches in the air…and pushed late dev work well past their schedules, like studio motion cap.

They need to buy or create a new support studio. Cos there was mumbles about them being split up into working on different parts of the campaign and that it was like two totlau different games. Which I would’ve been ok to see and try.

I don’t know where I’m going with this, I don’t even know what I want for lunch, I do know my superpower would be indecisiveness
