Yes, seems to be part of a broader issue of MS trying to manage so many different studios.
Perhaps, but wasn’t Bethesda given free rein over their release/scheduling and development. I think they have the most self autonomy, since they “kinda” already got it down. In a way they can be compared to Bungie under Sonys flag.

That's the problem, that their standards under their autonomy may not be aligned with what MS wants. I'm sure MS has some say in their operations.

True, but it’s almost always a good thing to be given more time….granted it may suck to work more but I’m sure they see it as a passion project and they (Bethesda)don’t want it to suck either

Every now and then we need devs to try something big, even if they don't stick the landing. Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky both set out to do something truly unique and both landed flat at launch but are now quality games that are legitimately unique. I wouldn't be surprised if Starfield does the same.

Would you include Sea of Thieves?

Is it? We are talking about an industry wide issue. Just look at how poor 2022 has been because of all the delays. Sony's line up looks alright this year because 2 of the games were delayed 2021 games.

It's the norm. We are the QA/Beta testers. Games only get fixed after we buy them and the backlash that follows.

Are we drinking? Bottoms up!

Well, Val found my question funny, so there is that.

I would say it made a pretty good turn around, kind of landed flat at launch no one really knew what to do, continued support and better direction saw it have a couple resurgences, I think twitch streamers helped it too.

Starfield will probably have plenty of bugs and struggle to maintain a solid frame rate at launch, hopefully it'll have that Bethesda magic to it (gameplay/exploration wise)

I hope with this delay and MS funding that they iron out more bugs.

SoT is one of the biggest new IPs in recent years.

Bethesda not having to release a game by a certain date anymore will be much better for them.

No Mans Sky landed flat because of all the lies.

If you look at this gen so far a lot of the issues are coming from cross gen and outdated engines, Cyberpunk, Gotham Knights, The Medium, Halo Infinite, God of War Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7, etc.

I just want this to be Mass Effect 2.0 for current gen, is that too much to ask? 😆
