Good thing we didn't listen to mob justice on Twitter with #ArrestBaldwin and #AlecBaldwinPrison.

The more info that comes out the more someone needs to be locked up for this.

Well, someone is responsible for her death. He shot her and he is a producer of the movie, and in addition to that, the prop master was negligent with the prop. Seems like both are guilty.

They aren't charging other producers so his role as a producer doesn't seem to be relevant to the charge. Weird to charge him as the one holding the gun unless he had reason to believe it wasn't safe.

As a producer he should have taken responsibility to make sure that his props are safe. Just because other producers didn't verify the safety doesn't make him not responsible for safety of his team.

But if they are charging based on that than other people would need to be charged as well. Probably charging him because he held the gun and not because he was a producer.

Baldwin was both an actor and producer for the movie.

“He’s being charged as both. He was the actor that pulled the trigger, so certainly he’s charged as an actor, but also as a producer he also had a duty to make sure that the set was safe,”
said Carmack-Altwies, noting that people on set had complained about the lax safety and there had been accidental misfires prior to this fatal incident.

“He should have been aware that safety was an issue on set and then as an actor that day, he should have checked that gun, checked those projectiles,” she said.

I think he'll get acquitted, but man I'd sue the ever loving s*** out of the prop master
He wont be acquitted. He pulled the trigger. "They told me the gun was safe" doesn't fly in a court of law. People are charged all the time for accidentally shooting someone.

It's kind of bulls*** that he's charged considering the circumstances. This isn't some folks playing around with a gun for funsies, this is a filmset, and the people shooting those cans are the ones who should charged for manslaughter since Baldwin was told it was empty to begin with.

People are charged all the time for shooting someone when they thought a gun was empty. Its not an excuse. No matter who handed it to them.
Here are just a couple examples of police officers who thought they had empty weapons during training and they were even charged. In the end its the person holding the guns responsibility to ensure the weapon is indeed safe. In the end I dont think he will do jail time, but he will plea down to a lesser charge and get probation. He is not getting off scott free.

I wonder... if I took a gun off a shelve in someone's house and asked the owner if it was safe (and got a yes) and then pointed it at someone and pulled the trigger... and killed him... what would happen? Would it go to court?

It depends. Is your friend’s house on a movie set where there should be no live rounds and you were handed the gun by a professional who said the gun is good to go and then the cinematographer directs you how to do move the gun to get the shot she wants?

Case dismissed.
