That would be two games out of the Bethesda purchase launching poorly

Throwing Bethesda under the bus after releasing the successful Deathloop, Ghostwire, Elder Scrolls Online Expansion and Hi-Fi Rush games while owned by MS.....to take one game that scored poorly (Redfall) on opencritic will cause the beginning of the end for Xbox......

This gloom and doom is pushed by clickbait media, twitter and explosive PlayStation fans.

Bethesda didn't put Starfield on this pedestal, but after the disappointment of Redfall, only natural Xbox gamers will look towards the next big title which in this case is Starfield.

You can keep undermining the importance of Starfield but it is what it is right now no matter how unfortunate the circumstances are. Xbox hasn't had that "must play" game since Halo Infinite and even that was met with lukewarm reception with significant loss of players for a live service game. Redfall was supposed to be one of the big games of 2022 but got pushed backed a year and still didn't meet expectations... so the pressure now falls on Starfield which is pushed back too from 2022. And if that flops... you see the trend and it is not a good look. Even Phil and MS said so when they expressed disappointment with Redfall.

"If Starfield fails that is…very bad. That would be two games out of the Bethesda purchase launching poorly from studios normally known for practically guaranteed hits. Even more than Redfall, it would indicate Microsoft does not know how to manage either old or new first party partners. If a supposed sure thing like Starfield can’t even stick the landing after all this work and delays to get it right, what hope do those other, less fleshed-out projects have? It may not be a fair narrative, as each project is different, but it will indeed by the narrative, and one that would be hard to refute."
I don't need to undermine it, it isn't a thing.

Forbes? lol. You really are desperate. Here is how little Forbes know: Arkane Austin isn't the hit maker. Morons.

Notice how in that paragraph is no mention of all the hits? BS narrative is BS. Lets ignore a dozen titles and focus on 1 from the B team at Arkane. Nonsense...absolute nonsense. Then use this as a basis for dooms day articles for Starfield. Clowns.

Like I said, it is unfair to do so but that's what the situation is right now.

For both Bethesda/MS's and our sake, let's hope Starfield lives up to the hype.

Like I said, it really isn't. Only PS fanboys and the click-baiting media are pushing this stupid narrative.

If Starfield is “oblivion in space with guns that go pew pew” then it may be hooked. But it’s also kinda putting me off it it’s like no man’s sky, elite dangerous and mass effect, kinda daunting even if it’s a good title.

Oblivion and botw and soon to be totk may be the only open world games that I spent hundreds of hours in, and still not finish them.

Infinite and crackdown are the two outliers, since they’re more of a checklist with a story that I’ve completed.

I should realy get back to the Aloy horizon series, I enjoyed the story just not all the little things I have to do. But botw is before it for attempting to compete it for the story.

But atm I’m looking forward to Planet of Lana more than any other game this year.

The only No Mans Sky-esque thing is crafting. At least from what they have shown so far. That isn't a bad thing IMO. The crafting in No Mans Sky is deep and has a sense of accomplishment.

People just love to ruin the pure excitement of new games these days.

No new information about a game, but let's just speculate on and on about it. It's not fun nor informative.

Only if you let them.

I'm as excited for this as I was when it was announced. Stopped listening to reviewers a very long time ago, and gave up on content creators back in 2019.

I've played and finished a good amount of those games. However, I fell off on Fallout 4. I'm hesitant that it'll be too much base building and scavenging resources. Hopefully, there's a good mix and you won't be required to do some things you don't like to do. I really did the minimum building in Fallout 4. We'll see.

Didn't they say you can just buy all your resources. Pretty sure they did.

Surprising....

I finished Fallout 4 without building anything. Settlements be damned I did not give one care about that crap at all.

Redfall was supposed to be the game that saved Xbox?
Nah, for some it was supposed to set the standard for Xbox’s new triple-a pricing with Bethesdas recent track record of releases, but forgot it’s Bethesda. Some also forgot that this is Xbox being hands off as it’s been stated that they were letting them do their own thing, as a company that just so happens to be under the Xbox wing.

Going from the interview I posted (I'm assuming everyone's too busy arguing to have read it) the customization will be even deeper, but like fallout 4 it'll probably be almost entirely optional. I personally can't wait to customize my base and ship. Scavenging resources I usually just came across them anyway until I did my big build.

I read it. It just didn't offer up much information. He only implies customisation is greater, but we already know that from the game play demo.

so, you’re saying Starfield will be Xbox’s Tears of the Kingdom? 🧐

Doubt it. Lol.

- Base Building
- Ship Building.
- Armour Crafting.
- Weapon Crafting
- Mod Crafting

The first 2 are likely optional.

It did sound, to me, that the crafting will be necessary, though. To what degree we do not know.

The fact that people think a company making a game they are renowned for is going to score significantly lower than usual is telling.

Based on what we have seen: This is a typical looking Bethesda game and should score similar. So, 87.
