The way that looks if true would mean that the GPU in the Xbox isn't as advanced as the one in the PS5 but that it may have some features from the GPU that is coming after Navi supposedly in 2021 or so. Seems kind of fishy to me but we'll see, so many rumors out there right now and I doubt clocks are really reliable at this point but it's still fun just to follow it all.

Edit: Just read on Gaf that Arctis has already been debunked by an AMD employee and isn't a GPU so take that for what it's worth.

Yeah but.... Josh said it... And he is... You know... JOSH...

Yeah I saw that last week when there was a guy saying there was gonna be negative Xbox news. Reddit started to think it was about Sony having exclusive rights, but I sure as hell hope that's bulls***. We don't need any of that crap, as if some of the (timed) but especially permanent exclusive game add ons aren't bad enough. We're gonna have companies making hardware components exclusive now? Foh.

Who's Josh?

No but he's the only one who's discussed it so far, like I said I think both will pretty much be the same thing.

Yeah, don't these companies more or less always know what one is going to do anyway? I mean look at some design choices of the Xbox One and PS4 in terms of looks, some very similar stuff.

Anyway, as for loading times, Sony released a video of it now.

If by any weird chance MS does end up sleeping on this (potentially game changer) that would be bad and as much as I want to continue buying multiplats for Xbox, I can't justify that anymore then. But it should be fine, please MS. :)

If they are pushing for the best tech they are going to end up pretty much in the same place, yeah different "customizations" but overall they aren't going to be that much different from each other unless they are pulling a Nintendo and going cheap on purpose.

If they really are going for the same wording again, they really will have to be the more powerful one, otherwise they'd look really damn foolish. Maybe we'll find out next month? Although I expect it will be like that very first Scorpio teaser.

Yeah, sounds like just some random dude just talking stuff. Unfortunately we'll undoubtedly be seeing a lot of that until launch.

Yeah, Sony is now kinda running with the whole custom SSD thing, but they'll probably end up being very similar. And MS going the Nintendo way with going cheap on purpose? Nah never.

Differences are still possible probably. Someone on gaf noted that the install times of Xbox and PS4 are pretty different. I honestly don't know because I don't have a PS4 myself.

Beginning of the gen they were. Now they are pretty much identical.

Interesting!

Honestly the install times aren't a worry of mine at all because I buy pretty much everything digital nowadays. ;)
Xbox installs as it downloads, PS installs after it downloads. More and more companies are learning how to trickle down content to let you start the game early while the remainder downloads.

I pre-order my games anyway, so they are always ready at midnight. I would say 99% of the time. The other 1% if I download it on demand, I am usually at work and it is ready on either system when I get home.

Yeah I didn't mean either Sony or MS specifically with the going cheap thing, just that it would be the only way either one would be very different because technological limitations are only going to allow for so much when it comes to being the most powerful. They'll both have an SSD and I'm sure loading times will basically be the same for both next gen which is good for all of us because they will be much shorter regardless of which platform you are using.

Install times are better on PS4 and have been all generation, even when it comes to digital downloads you get to the game faster than you do on Xbox while the download is still active, obviously once it's completely downloaded it's basically the same. One area xbox was doing better was overall download speeds but Sony really improved that over the last year or two, I notice no difference at all now.

Still don't believe any of these things but it gives us all something to think about until more real info comes out.

'Tis the season for rumors. It looks like these are just anonymous people on the internet claiming to Know Things, without any evidence to back them up. I wouldn't give them any credence.

Isnt pastabin kind of a notorious Sony fan?

No, it’s just a site for people to post anything they want, anonymously. It’s often fanboy BS (on both sides), but occasionally a few real ones slip in there.

I'm just waiting for a leak of a first party developer claiming to have both devkits. That's when I'll know we've passed the regular silly season and are full-blown in the "any idiot can make up s***" season. :)

Agreed. But with E3 so close, I’m hoping MS just gives at least a ‘Scorpio-like’ intro to Anaconda with some hard numbers.
