I guess it's a good thing we haven't seen anything about this game, otherwise, I think more would be disappointed.

Well unless Forza 8 comes out in the fall not seeing a point to buying a Series X yet. Come onnnn

Yep.

Forza 8 is pretty much all that could potentially come out too, maybe a few indies or a AA game.

I get people are disappointed, rightfully so, but between Gamepass and my multi console backlog, I personally would have be trying to find time to fit Starfield in. If the delay can help them avoid their usual Bethesda type launch mess and keep them from a Cyberpunk type disaster, I'm all for it.

True. But apparently we get no games from MS first party in 2022?

Don't see how this is an MS thing. This year is looking very, very thin all over. Even multiplats are thin. I posted in the other thread a meme about COD being the only game this fall. Forspoken is still fall, but that's about it. I could honestly see myself not buying a new game for the rest of the year.

Nobody thought Redfall was making 2022 but SF had printed advertisements and s*** with its release date.

Probably a good thing to further optimize the consoles and PC(direct storage releases later this year)

I'm not sure about that. You could be right, but I'd wait until their showcase in June just in case. Might be a few surprises in there.

It's not a Sony thing.

  • God of War 2
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • MLB The Show
  • Forespoken
  • Ghostwire Tokyo
  • Sifu

God of War 2 is suspect as well. I hope it still makes it out this year but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

And if we are being fair, all the games you listed outside of The Show were hit by major delays themselves as most of them were supposed to hit in earlier than their current release dates.

The delay bug is getting bad and alot of the major players are going to have to adapt.

GoW2 still doesn't even have a date yet, right? I know they say 2022, but I just assume a delay in any game and am rarely wrong. Sony always likes to hold their delay announcement until closer to release.

MLB plays quite nice on Xbox. Thanks Sony! ;)

Does that ever happen, though. Usually they get delayed and still release a mess.

Honestly you’re right. I’ve barely gotten to the glut of AAA releases from the first few months of 2022, due to the birth of my daughter. s*** is finally settling in so I’ve only just now been gaming again. Besides the obvious Elden Rings and Horizons, some other stuff like Lost Ark on PC, Warhammer 3, and some backlog like DS and Nioh 2 and Returnal … yeah, I really don’t NEED any big releases this year.

Besides there’s always something to check out on Gamepass.

I think this just has me a tad concerned for the games themselves. More so Starfield.

This isn't a good look for MS at all, if they hadn't purchased Bethesda they'd have had nothing this year anyway and they had no first party AAA console games launch on their new hardware for it's first 11 or so months, before that the AAA 1st part stuff was pretty sparce for years so yes this is a continuation of an ongoing MS problem not something that just started for them.

As far as Sony yes Horizon was delayed from last year but they still released AAA games last year and they had some at launch as well so even if God of War does get delayed (we've at least seen gameplay from it) we've already had a lot more from Sony than MS not just this year but this generation so far.

I assume it's ok to delay a game if it's not ready, right? Or is that only acceptable when it's a PS game (asking for a friend).

First of all, belatedly congrats on your new addition.

I'm with you on the big releases. I'm still digging out of the backlog pile myself. Still haven't play Horizon yet, haven't finished Tunic yet, haven't started Pokemon Legends yet, etc and so on.
