120 fps Next Gen games

I can't wait for it.
I'll probably get there within this generation, just like I got to 4K before the end of this one. 4K/60 will be enough of a leap for most games. Rocket League and a few others have already proven that 4K/60 not only looks better, but enhances gameplay on the One X. It's been a long time since I've seen anything doing 120fps at all, and I really am dying to see that because I do think it's the future. F@ck 8K! I'll take 4K/120 over that any day! I'm just not in any kind of hurry to upgrade my projector, and I'm probably not going under 100" anytime soon because I'm spoiled on that.

1800p/120fps? I've honestly never seen that resolution attempted. But as I keep saying, native res is somewhat arbitrary above 1440p, and more like a stat. Especially at a higher framerate.1800p is an interesting compromise, and the temporal resolution increase of doubling a 60Hz image should actually make it look more detailed than 4K/60, since 1440p/120fps would have been 1:1 pixels.

I am looking forward to hearing from you guys about these 120Hz setups, and how much you feel it improves immersion. I have seen 120fps games on PC way back, but it's harder to imaging in a livingroom setting, somehow.

Okay. After doing this I was able to spot a difference. I'm still not convinced that it's worth the extra resources to get the 120, but at least I can see it now.

Why is it setup this way? I never would have tried that if I hadn't seen this

I need to try it too, still haven't tried any 120fps.

I am still using 1080p TV. Never buy Philips TV & monitors. They fking don't break. My 19" Philips monitor is 14 years old now.

Nah, 1800p is waay better than 1440p native. It gets tougher above 1800p, imo.

Yeah, I've been seeing that this is the case a lot more since posting that. Crazy how much has changed in 6 months, even without major new AAA game releases. I wish my display did 120Hz to take advantage of this.

Edit: and as I said, not arbitrary at all at higher frames, especially considering 1800p/120 is a higher temporal resolution than 2160p(4K)/60.
