Is it a gif or png? I just see a lil box? Am I both in and out of the box?

Your analogy doesn't work.

The new manager knows the club's history. In Phil's case he was part of the team before he got promoted. Comparing Phil to a new draft or void of any responsibility is ridiculous. He has worked many years for Xbox and he was the manager of Microsoft Game Studios even before 2008. So all this he just came around the corner stuff doesn't make any sense.
Right, he might be party of the club but he has no power at that time. Things can't be turned on the dime.

He did what ever he can possibly be done this gen. Next gen is where he needs to show or go home packing.

I will give him 2 years after new systems has been released.

It's pretty clear across the forums I visit, the majority was disappointed in this show. Even the poll score on Union here is revealing too considering the fanbase. Loads of cgi, multiplatforms, and games we already knew about. The new stuff they did show was incredibly underwhelming for me.
Yes, I think it is not the year for us to show really anything and they need to change the E3 format.

If you show something one year, the next year you dont go back on stage. Have a video release instead. E3 is suppose to see something new, not show us what we already know.

Trailer one year and demo the next is very reasonable

Agree. Hell, even the Sony formula of trailer/teasers each year until you're ready to release and then showing gameplay is fine. What's not fine is showing a trailer if the game was already announced and releasing before the next E3, especially if you're showing a trailer of something that you're invested in enough to build a f***ing set on the stage for.

Sooo..who will they acquire next?

I have a terrible feeling Remedy might go to Sony. Haven’t heard anything, but I just have a feeling.

Anyways to answer your question 4A games would be a great purchase. Or something that isn’t talked about is maybe getting studios inside certain companies. Maybe buying the studio that works on Dead Rising from Capcom and obtaining the IP’s they work on. Not saying they should, but using it more as an example.

If Avengers fails hard Crystal Dynamics could be on the chopping block and the right studio to tackle a Perfect Dark reboot.

Remedy wouldn't get noticed in the Sony stable the way on Xbox. I'd be salty about it..the same way I'm still salty over how MS never made it happen with Bioware when they were on fire with Mass Effect.

Maybe they could strike a deal with CD for Perfect Dark. I'd prefer them to do a PD over IOI. Watching Black Widow fight Taskmaster made me think of Perfect Dark in a third person action game.

Perfect Dark could go the third person action route..but I wouldn't mind a Deus Ex like aproach either. Or maybe a game that has both..but for something that ambitious maybe The Initiative could make it work on their first try.

I could see Remedy taking Quantic Dreams place for a Sony partnership next gen maybe. They probably will be a bit desperate when Control bombs but the Alan Wake 2 dream is dead at this point..

I know- it's sad that Control will probably bomb. It's so easy to forget about for some reason! They need to show story bits or something. Get people interested. Their Marketing has been terrible.

Control won't be the same without Shawn Ashmore ;)

Quantum Break had a much better marketing camping than Control. It also doesn’t help that Sony skipped E3 because it would have been on their stage. The reason I think Remedy is going to be bought is because this is going to be yet another under performing game for them. Not really sure how they can keep doing that.

I desperately want MS to buy them. They are one of my favorite devs and if Microsoft buys them the chance of Alan Wake 2 goes up.

It does kind of seem like the Microsoft/Remedy partnership ended poorly so it doesn't seem likely.

I would love for that to happen, as I want Alan Wake 2 just as much as anybody. But I think that partnership is long gone now. Though it is interesting that Remedy is helping make a campaign for the CrossfireX game for Xbox.

By the look it seems that a lot of gamers dont care for their games. Putting it in gamepass can change their business model.

Square will come up with a new excuse, trust.
If I dont see it here in this E3 that will be the last that I will ever get their FF title.

Well we have an explanation

Wccftech: Recently there was the launch of “Dauntless” from Phoenix Labs with PC, PS4, and Xbox One crossplay. Have there been any updates for Final Fantasy XIV [to support] crossplay for Shadowbringers or in the future?
Two months ago, I discussed with Phil Spencer. I have explained this before but we are prepared to do crossplay at any time. To play an MMORPG, there are 2 regulations for Microsoft which stand in the way of making crossplay feasible. Unless these regulations are rejected, there is no meaning. Simply speaking, the matching base FPS style game has no issues with those 2 regulations. If we had made an FPS game [had FF14 been one of those games], then we would already have crossplay. One of the regulations is that players with different platforms cannot chat with each other in-game. Then how do you play an MMO? The other regulation is you cannot make a community with plays on a different platform. You can’t form a guild, you can’t enter into a link shell, [and] no free company. So I would like to have Microsoft change their regulations. And this is not limited to Microsoft but there are many players who only have crossplay experience with FPS games, especially with the business scene. For an MMORPG, a game which full communication is possible, regulations need to be created considering how massive an MMORPG is to have true crossplay. Final Fantasy XIV will not release crossplay without making this clear because that would only hurt the players. I think we can only try to continue having our discussions with those parties [to communicate and relay what is needed].

Wccftech: As a comment, there is precedence to this in Final Fantasy XI. We did see PS2, Xbox 360, and PC cooperate. Hopefully in the future, Microsoft, Sony, Google, and whichever other platforms come together for Final Fantasy XIV.
I hope the same thing. I have been having that same discussion with all of the other platforms. I have been discussing how true crossplay is not understood [and try to convince them].

Like I said, I am done with them forever

I would think this is just miscommunication though because it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I’m assuming it’s just communication, between companies and in game. Wish he went more detail as to what and why. Just throwing out “cos not fps” i get the feeling it’s his point of view as he sees Xbox/MS and other western games, “all fps, even rpgs, cos Mercia” :p what current fps game supports crossplay? I know COD MW will support it out the gate and so will destiny 2, soon. The first two games to support it were fortnite and rocket league, maybe Minecraft, no?

Anyways I do understand there may be an issue with communication with the game if day headset and keyboard support isn’t supported to communicate between said two platforms? Do current crossplay games not support any fo of communication atm???

I think you can communicate in Dauntless. Not sure about any of the others.

I could see if it was an issue with X1 having a system wide opt out option but other than that I don't understand.

I can’t recall exactly but, I may be wrong, doesn’t live on the Xbox one use some version of Skype for voice chat?

I assume you think he is telling lies? Why would he?

Give it another six months and we'll have a new set of excuses, trust.

They're going to drag this carrot along until people stop asking them and then the problem will be that theres no interest. I'm surprised people are still asking after all this time, it's like the worst on-going joke in gaming.

Yeah some of that crossplay regulation talk is bs. I've personally experienced cross platform global text and party voice chat in dauntless, and I'm in a clan that hosts players from all 3 platforms.

Maybe dauntless is a weird exception. Despite not being very popular, maybe the Epic money pushed them through some hoops.

But why? All they would have to say is either we aren't planning it at this time or we are exploring all platforms. Same type of thing you hear with all the other games that don't come to Xbox including games from Square. Microsoft can easily dispute this so what is there to gain?
