4k vs. 8k

This is the best vid I've found for this in the real world. I thought this was relevant with the talk of 8k in with the new gen coming.





To be fair, I can definitely see the difference close up at the store, but at normal viewing distance it seems like a ridiculous waste of resources...

I think 4K is already pretty damned awesome, why are they in such a rush to push things further when 4K content still isn't as widely available as it should be? Let's let it settle for a while. I know TV manufacturers need to have something new to market their sets but holy hell let's let one standard catch up before we move on :)
 

This TV uses the backlight master drive like my Z9D and is a sight to see in person...

The price is a reason to run!

I wouldn't right getting a upcoming 8k yet as if it is priced Right and has a exceptional scaler...why not?

The real point to higher res is being able to sit closer to a larger TV with no sharpness loss. If you're sitting 10 ft away from a 60in 8K TV you're doing it wrong.
