Ubisoft is about to command the living room dance floor once again with Just Dance 2014. The next installment of the party favorite, booty shaking, downstairs neighbor aggravator is on tap for a release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U on October 8th, 2013 and this holiday season on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Xbox One owners should expect improved Kinect integration and better tracking for up to six players simultaneously. Dub-steppers and dougie wannabes alike can now share the dance floor with even more friends and family at home and around the world.

Just Dance 2014 will also introduce a new online mode called “World Dance Floor;” here, players can participate in one rolling playlist, all working together against one global challenge, such as boys versus girls.

Non-dancers can get in on the fun too with the new “Party Master” mode, and updated version of the Wii U’s “Puppet Master” mode. Utilizing Xbox SmartGlass or the Wii U GamePad, players watching on the couch will be able to control the dancing and music playlist, essentially making them the life (or death, in some cases) of the party. This control affords the non-dancers a full-on, hand selected list of funny moves and all too likely embarrassing moves for everyone to enjoy. This feature is exclusive to the Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

The list of artists in Just Dance 2014 is pretty impressive, featuring performers such as Nicki Minaj, Robin Thicke and One Direction, just to name a few. You’ll also find classics like “Ghostsbusters” for those who prefer a good Sprinkler (my personal favorite) versus the more modern and complicated dance moves, like the Jackhammer or Gangnam Style. In total, they’re 48 tracks.

Grab some buddies and set the roof on fire when Just Dance 2014 releases October 8, 2013 for current gaming consoles, and this holiday season for next generation entertainment systems.

The “World Dance Floor” mode sounds pretty cool. It's creative at least.
