While that's funny and all, I don't think being able answer geographical trivia questions is a good measure of intelligence. Nobody is a walking encyclopedia. Everyone is more intelligent about something than someone else. It's our collective intelligence as a society that makes humanity so smart.

Meh. At least I know what Canada's capital is. Doesn't do me much favors, but it's in the ol' noggin now.
(In this thread, I honestly did learn what the capitol of Canada was. I'm just jelly you guys have such a comedy gold mine.)
I didn't know Rob Ford until the p**** eating thing. I thought that was hilarious and very refreshing. I've gotten used to goofballs in gov around the world, so why not an honest goofball?
If we complain about our politicians being liars, we gotta stop axing people every time they say something wrong. All humans screw up. In politic people die when they screw up. We should reward honesty. because nobody knows what the hell they are doing. Nobody knows what is going on.

I'm all for allowing some discretion when it comes to the "nobodies perfect" concept.. expecting perfection from anyone in any scenario usually leads to dishonesty.
But Rob Ford isn't some hapless victim being attacked for a minor flaw. He is the head of a city and he associated himself with crack dealers.. he didn't just smoke crack once, he was scene numerous times with that dealer.. the dealer was scene at his office.. he may have done favors for the guy.. he apparently paid utilities at what appears to be basically a crack house.
And he repeatedly lied about it all.. and his excuses/denials/attacks on those who are questioning him are as bad as the actions/lies themselves.

explain. i posted a video of stupid american kids that attend one of the most prolific universities in the country not knowing something simple as capital of a neighbouring country, and in return, a picture of one fat crackhead mayor is posted which is supposed to (apparently) situate that all canadians are fat crackhead mayors? okay..

anyway, frig, toronto council stripped him of his powers yesterday which is frigging ridiculous and somewhat anti-democratic. he was voted in and now he is a mayor without powers. frig off.

you posted a video highlighting American stupidity and the americans countered with Canadian stupidity (I mean, they are the ones who elected him...), seems pretty clear-cut to me

If you didn't give a f*** about the video, then this thread probably wouldn't exist. To some degree you do give a f***, and that's cool, but it's obvious that this whole thread has gone off the initial path of fun banter to people taking things personally.
This is a hard question to answer because outside of Canada Canada doesn't exist to a lot of people.
