It's just Remedy being woke and trying to be inclusive of pudgy Americans who want to see someone who, like them, can't take more than five steps without wheezing.
It's likely an accurate portrayal of a typical writer's fitness level!

I played through the first chapter tonight, I like the atmosphere and I bet it would have been even better if they had done a true next gen remake vs a remaster but man this guy is very unlikeable, I almost want him to die lol. He's such a whiney bitch and he's not nice to anyone lol.

Just finished up the last DLC, game is a blast. Good times. This is a game that I love to replay every few years anyway so playing a remastered version was a bonus

Quick, wake up TXB to show all the "would have sold much better in PS" posts.

I didn't pay much attention to what they did.

1440p on next-gen 60fps for a last last gen game.

Also complete lack of HDR support, performance and tearing issues.

Going to wait for PS+ or GP.

Just finished end of episode 3 and started 4 last night.

It's pretty good for a PS plus title.

The cutscenes stutters are annoying.

The remaster finally broke even ahead of the launch of Alan Wake 2.
Alan Wake Remastered has recouped its development and marketing costs around two years after it launched.

The revamped version of Alan Wake debuted in October 2021 and, according to developer Remedy, managed to break even during the third quarter of the current fiscal year.

The Finnish studio shared the milestone in its fiscal report for the third quarter ended September 30, 2023, where it noted that quarterly revenue decreased by 1.1 percent to €7.8 million ($8.3 million). The company also recorded a loss of €5.5 million ($5.8 million), which was significantly higher than the $3.3 million loss it reported in Q3 last year.

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala said that's because the studio has been "investing more in our ongoing game projects than ever before. In the short term, this has a negative impact on revenue, profitability and cash position."
