Alec Baldwin accidentally killed someone on set.

I wonder... if I took a gun off a shelve in someone's house and asked the owner if it was safe (and got a yes) and then pointed it at someone and pulled the trigger... and killed him... what would happen? Would it go to court?
You would most likely do jail time for that one. You would be negligent. Treat every gun as if it were loaded and never point it at anything you arent willing to destroy.

People are charged all the time for shooting someone when they thought a gun was empty. Its not an excuse. No matter who handed it to them.
Here are just a couple examples of police officers who thought they had empty weapons during training and they were even charged. In the end its the person holding the guns responsibility to ensure the weapon is indeed safe. In the end I dont think he will do jail time, but he will plea down to a lesser charge and get probation. He is not getting off scott free.
I think the big difference here is that these are experts (both former police officers I might add) in their field who should have been able to tell. As far as I know, Alec Baldwin is not that expert and relies on people like the prop master to make sure things like this don't happen.

Ok, I’m not following this story, but I gotta ask, why?

Was he like pushing to cancel Alec?
He was salty Alec Baldwin made fun of him and the charges were just for show from someone looking to push their run for office so politization of it will of course get conversative upset now that there are no charges..

Trump also suggested Baldwin did it on purpose and it wasn't an accident.

I don't know much about this but I feel like there should be no live/real bullets on set allowed.

But this will haunt him and his public image for the rest of his life. I feel bad for him.

If I landed an acting gig and my part was to fire a gun at someone, I'd trust that it wasn't an actual loaded gun.

They should be spending their time trying to make sure this doesn't happen again on any other set.
