So I'm guessing this will be released on multiple platforms?

Amy has long been recognized as one of our industry’s top visionaries, and is coming off an amazing run as the Writer and Creative Director of the Uncharted franchise. But her contributions go beyond the games she helped create at Naughty Dog and at Crystal Dynamics, where we worked together many years ago. As both a colleague and friend, I’ve always admired her approach to creative development – focusing on nailing down the soul of a game first, and then making sure the writing, the gameplay, the design and the art comes together to form a unified, interactive experience for the player. This fits in perfectly with what we’re trying to do here at Visceral and Amy’s going to help us continue in our pursuit to make the most thrilling, immersive games in the world.

Over the last few weeks, Amy and I have spent a lot of time talking about what her first project would be. There are a lot of different directions we could have gone, but I could sense that what really excited her about this opportunity (because let’s face it, we weren’t the only ones knocking at her door) was Star Wars. Amy’s a huge fan. We happen to be making a Star Wars game. Just thinking about the possibilities made both of us even more excited about having her join the team.

I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, but this will make me check out whatever game they're talking about. I'm playing through Uncharted 2 right now, and the writing is just pitch-perfect and a lot of fun.

THIS has me getting VERY moist. I love Star Wars, and I think the story in UC was awesome. I want a great Star Wars game, and I can see that happening with her.

Visceral Games last space-adventures were fun enough.. Dead Space-series..
It excelled in gameplay, but I cant' say I remember much of the characthers there, except for the name of the protagonist, Isak - but with Amy Hennig onboard, and if she has time to contribute alot to casting and similar - it would be awesome if the characther-standard were raised abit closer to ND-standards. :-/
This might probably turn out to be a really great game - I hope we play a new jedi or something, set in the Star Wars universe, rather than playing as Luke Skywalker.. :-/

Initially I thought it was a weird mix. But if she's excited about the opportunity then that's great.

I was really hoping that she would return to Crystal Dynamics for a Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain revival. Oh well. The world doesn't revolve around what I want. Good luck to her.

Confirmed that they'll mostly be staying away from the movies. (Battlefront being excepted due to certain movie based battles being the whole point of the game) Though that doesn't rule out

EA's goal is to be like the Arkham series, separate but connected. Probably with offhand references, overheard conversations "did you hear about greedo" or some sh!t. All I really expect is a good enough consistency with the massive amounts of lore on hand. I say good enough because perfect means keeping up with the backstory of that one imperial officer dressed in white in that first vader force choke scene, and that would probably not be 100% relevant to the story they want to tell.

found it, this guy:

Visceral has been pretty good at mixing a narrative-lead experience with great gameplay already. Her coming onboard indicates not only that their Star Wars game is under a good hand, but also that they are making an action adventure story that's akin to Uncharted and Tomb Raider. This is good, this sounds way better than Battlefront.
